El Oh El

tOSU.

Not sure a 1pt loss for Ohio St is being significantly out coached to be fair. Great both lost though. Screw that conference. Let's go TCU!
Yeah I was pulling for UGA but generally thought Day outcoached Kirby for most of the night though he screwed up at the very end.

Honestly haven’t watched much CFB the past couple years outside of Syracuse games. After watching these two playoff games today: holy crap that is about 3 levels above where Syracuse is. Was actually a bit shocking to see how good these four teams were.

Need to spend money to make money.

If Ohio State is serious about what they want to be, they're offering a blank check to Urban Meyer. Ryan Day at minimum needs to fire the DC.

Well…… they are the top 4 teams in the league lol

Would like to know which coach actually caught that and got it to Kirby.

That’s an incredible job mapping tape study to real time game decision making where a split second mattered.
It didn’t work out for them but Jim harbaugh knowing the odds were high for them converting that short 3 rd down. Holding to see how the next play went and then calling all 3 timeouts to have the clock stop for the punt was also a great coaching time management. Games on the line beat you can do is tell your defense to step up and give the offense a chance.

yeah Syracuse in the grand scheme has been able to field teams that can play on this stage about twice in 75 years. But he is right there are levels and we can go up a couple as well. Took a step up this year for sure. Keep building

Two incredible games. Happy with both outcomes, but it is rare to see games of this magnitude where both games literally went down to the wire.

Very entertaining pair of games, with national championship implications.

Left a timeout in the holster too.

They hung that kicker out.
Not to mention that dropping back to pass in that situation risks taking a sack and really screwing over your field goal chances. A conservative 3-4 yard run is worth its weight in gold there.

Didn't they just hire the DC?

Biggest play of the night may have been Marvin Harrison getting knocked out of the game at the end of the 3rd quarter. He was driving UGA crazy.
Its helps not having him on the field but he hadnt had a catch since the 2nd quarter

I know he has a couple Ls to Michigan, but Day is 45-6 as a head coach and three playoff appearances in four seasons.

Yes they fired the DC last year, hired Jim Knowles from Oklahoma St for 1.9 mil. He’s most Likely not getting fired after 1 year but who knows. Their D was horrible the past 2 games. Some real breakdown in coverage. Knowles was head coach at Cornell for a few years and sucked before going to Duke to be the DC.
