2022 Coaching Carousel

he looks to be the favorite to get Cinci job which would be great for him. I think he will do well there although some think fickell didn’t leave the cupboards stacked with talent. Hope he gets the job. The cinci fans seemed pissed about Lewis coming aboard which is odd to me. He’s done pretty good rebuilding a dead program
They're moving to the Big 12. Hiring a guy who has gone 2-10, 7-6, 3-1, 7-7 and 5-7 in the MAC, and who has no Cincinnati connections, isn't going to be too exciting for them.

Fickell did very well getting the better Cincy players to stay home. I don't know if Lewis can.

Tommy Tuberville was not a homerun. He did well at first though left them at 4-8.
Well, they've done pretty good keeping that program going in the right direction. Seems idiotic to me to trash the administration over choosing Lewis.

Lewis has coached like 7 years in Ohio I’m sure he has connections in the State. Now moves to a higher profile school where he’ll get a higher profile recruit.

He has 3 total players from the Cincinnati-Dayton area. It's not an easy place to recruit as you really have to be in with the Catholic high schools.

Tuberville completely lost them by the time he left. I lived in Cincy at the time and it was a huge issue for the UC program. Fickell did a great job repairing it because he has the connections, is from Columbus, and played/coached for OSU. He also got those players who would go to Big 10 and SEC schools to stay.

If Lewis gets it then great for him and I hope he's successful. He's going to have his work cut out for him in keeping those local kids, especially with Fickell recruiting there for Wisconsin.

So hire an assistant with local ties

Fickell also rivals Phillip Rivers for the title of “most Catholic person in football.”

Since Pope Urban is sitting on the sidelines, I guess so. ND always felt they could get him.

This move does not make a lot of sense to me. Littrell took the team to a bowl game in 6 of 7 years, multiple conference championship games, and helped them get into the AAC. They just lost their AD to WVU on top of it, so who is even going to make the next hire?

SU football really is not in bad situation compared to a lot of the other shenanigans going on CFB. Basketball is a different story...

Chris Petersen strikes me as more of a Stanford guy than a UNLV guy.

And if I were Orgeron, I’d lay on the beach all day. Either that or count my millions of dollars. But I wouldn’t get back into coaching.

Looks like it's been debunked that either is actually a candidate today.
