He was a top 15 QB last year. $35 mil really isn’t that bad and they’re spreading it over 4 years to save some serious money this season like the team wanted.

Maybe they really like one of the rookie QB's. Trubisky is probably as good a transitional QB as you can find.

Who exactly is out there that would be better outside of Watson, who seems to be headed elsewhere?

Considering the assets required to trade for someone like Jimmy, I think Mitch is probably the best option available.

I’d expect Pittsburgh to draft someone too but I think this is a pretty good outcome considering what the options were.

My buddy is telling me the same thing. Still not in love with it, been used to Big Ben for so long, just was hoping for someone better, but I get it. Talked with someone about this in detail the other day.
