So teams that could theoretically check at least 2 of 3 boxes:

Pittsburgh
Philly
Cleveland
Tampa
New Orleans
Indy

Anyone else?

Indy matches it but I highly doubt HOU trades him within the division.

Carolina is the obvious trade partner.

6th overall pick this year, Watson goes back to where he played in college. Charlotte to Clemson is a short drive.

Carolina OL isn’t complete garbage.

6th overall pick, 2022 3rd round pick, next year’s first for Watson

No doubt Carolina will want him badly. If those are truly the 3 things he’s looking for, I would say they check none of the boxes and I don’t think it’s really debatable.

Carolina has a good defense.
They had horrible QB play. You are a Bucs guy so you know that team better than me. I saw them play a couple of times last year if they get Watson I would bet they make the playoffs next year.

Their defense started out hot but the second half of the year it was bad. The offense certainly did them no favors. I can’t deny that.

If Tampa is able to solve the QB spot this off-season, they should be the team to beat once again. But if Carolina gets Watson and Tampa ends up with Gabbert/Trask as their QBs, yeah, Watson might be good enough to win what will likely be a pretty weak division.

It’s going to boil down to how picky Watson is with his trade clause. I think Carolina is probably the worst team that is pursuing him so it wouldn’t make much sense to me for him to waive it to go there but I get that it might not be all about the football situation.

Cowboys get some Cap relief and get Cooper out of the conference. I guess Jarvis Landry will be moving on from Cleveland. He’s a guy I’d love for Mac Jones.

Cowboys got a 5th round pick and swap spots in the 6th.

Woof. Moving on from him for only a 5th really shows how little leverage Dallas had here.

They cleared all of his salary.
It’s actually a win for the Cowboys long term they clear cap space.
They short term get dead money but its not spread out.

Cleveland taking the entire salary for Cooper who is way overpaid isn’t good usage of cap space.

I think Dallas makes out. This draft is full of WRs. I would rather take a WR in the second round than pay Cooper what Cleveland will.

Amari isn’t way overpaid though. He’s a very good WR in a market where guys like Christian Kirk are rumored to be getting over $15 mil per year. Cleveland essentially got him for free and they can cut Landry now and maybe save money while significantly upgrading the position.

Edit: If they roll it back with Baker though, this is probably a waste of their time and money. If they end up landing Watson though…

I get why Cle does this though.

They clearly are still up in the air on whether or not to pay Baker.

This year is make or break. No FA WR is going to Cleveland, so trading for a 1b caliber Amari Cooper was the best they were going to do.

Yea, if Kirk is getting $15M, Mike Williams $20M… Cooper at that mark doesn’t look so bad.

Even better is how good the Allen/Mahomes contracts will look based on what Stafford is looking for and Rodgers got. Baltimore might want to figure out what Lamar wants, and quick..

They still have to unload more salary I think, that Zeke contract is an anchor on their roster

Tom can do whatever he wants. He didn’t drag this out.
He did it quickly and he showed he can still play.

Fake a retirement to get all the love, and then come back anyway?

Bet Tom tells people it’s his birthday when it’s really not, too.

Probably will have a funeral for himself while he’s still alive too.
