My theory that this is going to be like practice #10 is getting closer to being true.Spring Game is April 1st and for the month of March there must be 15 practice days and still no schedule. Hey SUADept...a few table scraps please.

As fans it sucks to see a abbreviated format of a spring game. As coaches they can care less. They will do what they feel is best for the team.
They are going to do it their way no matter how many wins or losses they have. SU doesn't have boosters or enough people with power that caresImagine how many more losses we'd have if the fans saw a real spring game.
Actually don't imagine it, we have enough of them.
When my Beanie Babies collection finally hits max value, I'll be able to flex the booster muscle we need! They are going to do it their way no matter how many wins or losses they have. SU doesn't have boosters or enough people with power that cares
He can do both I think. But yes, his athletic ability at Tackle...look out.He could be a nice redzone target because of his height but I think he has more upside and NFL ability at OT. If he comes in at 280 I can see the staff giving him looks there.
That could certainly be the case, but I may disagree on some of this.I would agree that this certainly appears to be the case.
The spring game/event scheduled for April 1st will likely not be the last spring practice for Syracuse football in 2022.
Assuming they start practicing within the next few days it’s not likely they will be able to squeeze in 14 practices before April 1st. The spring game/event (we don’t know the format) is four weeks away and the university is scheduled to take spring break from March 12th - 20th. So, the football program actually only has three weeks to get those 14 practices in if the game/event would be the 15th practice. That’s simply not going to happen.
As disappointing as this may be to those who were planning to attend the event and hoping to see the team and the progress they’ve made (position battles etc…) it is interesting to know won’t be the only program in the country who will be hosting an event before their 15th practice. The University of Oregon is another.
It is very disappointing to see this unfold this way. I do not understand the thinking behind this. If you couldn’t start spring practice sooner, then why not push the spring game/event back a week? I understand the ACCN is calling the shots here, but in my opinion it’s bad programming to show practice #10 or #12 and not #15.
I had this thought as well. This may be the scrimmage that determines the 1s vs 2s heading into Summer workouts. That could certainly be the case, but I may disagree on some of this.
Assuming this is the 11th? Practice:
In the past, the REAL spring scrimmage was a week before the dome "game"/event(12th? Practice). Its the one they kick the cr@p out of each other. The one where players try to make a statement. When that's settled, they finish up the last week, and have a punt fest, or something in the dome.
Its possible we may actually see a real game. Perhaps Dino's hand was forced. Maybe it will just be a walk through/punt fest and the real scrimmage will be the next morning?
Maybe Dino will have the real one the last weekend? But that takes a week away from those that earned spots, to work on cohesion.
Based on scheduling, there's an argument to be had that we could get the real deal spring scrimmage. As much as that may be lining up? I won't make that argument. We've never been allowed to see the "real" spring scrimmage. I'm hopeful, but history isn't on my side. Wouldn't it be cool to see the real one?
Starring on Broadway in The Music Man, I believe.Where is the Wolverine?
Dino is the coach, he will do what he thinks is best for the team. That will change from year to year.I’m almost certain we will see a real scrimmage on 4/1. Who has more influence at SU, Dino Babers or the ACC? Time will tell.
Dino has pressure from the conference to play a Spring game, he even alluded to that when asked on Packer and Durham. Let’s not deny that there are other influences in this, just like any other job.Dino is the coach, he will do what he thinks is best for the team. That will change from year to year.
A factor to consider is the turnover on the coaching staff. The new coaches, especially on offense, may want to see for themselves, up close in person, what the players can do in game like circumstances. They also probably have different expectations for what they like to see in a Spring game. I think Dino’s thinking will evolve this year with the help of the new staff.
It’s not pressure to play a spring game, it’s a mandate from the conference or other ACC powers that be. The question and issue is what will the format of the game be. We have seen non game “games” in the recent past. I stand by my reply in regards to Dino. The other influences he will listen to will be his coaches and the potential impact on recruiting. I don’t think his main worry will about be trying to entertain whoever watches the game on TV.Dino has pressure from the conference to play a Spring game, he even alluded to that when asked on Packer and Durham. So essentially your point is what exactly; that Dino will not be influenced with the game being televised at the conference wanting a full game? Whatever you say man. It’s not pressure to play a spring game, it’s a mandate from the conference or other ACC powers that be. The question and issue is what will the format of the game be. I read it that Dino has a mandate to play a game. Will he be influenced to entertain you by running Tucker 20 times? Heck no. Tucker has that position sewn up.So essentially your point is what exactly; that Dino will not be influenced with the game being televised at the conference wanting a full game? Whatever you say man.
Spring Game in less than a month-Surprised it's been crickets in relation to Spring Practice (though I'm all for a good game of Tug of war).
