So why did he go ND in the first place again? Was it Dior?
He went to prep school near ND and wanted to get away from home (Syracuse), and he clicked really well with Brey. Also, he liked JB, but he's close with Red so Red becoming the head coach probably helped (although I think his family contacted the staff prior to the announcement of JB's retirement).

Although I like both Brown and Taylor, they may be the two that should transfer out.
If Red wants to run, it's going to make a big difference who will be playing.
Of course a lot depends on who may pull the trigger first. I would be very surprised if they all opt to stay.

Brown can play any defense. I really hope he stays. He also may be better offensively if we pick up the tempo and have less half court sets.

Taylor is a huge piece of the bench next year. Not sure about his man-D, but we need shooters.

I wouldn't call for any of these guys leaving just yet. They are not 4 or 5 star players who were expected to make a big splash right away but came in lowly ranked and need time to develop. Taylor is slow footed but is a good shooter and has good size to match up against a big 2 guard or small forward. Brown has proven that he can play, and Carey who is fast, athletic and primarily a finisher/dunker, will flourish in a transition uptempo style. Getting the most out of these guys will depend on how and when they are used - which means usage depending on matchups and not sticking to a rigid rotation and style.

ND returned their whole team except for Hubb. They were supposed to finish at or near the top of the ACC and make a big Tourney runwith JJ taking over for Hubb.

If you want to run, you have to defend and rebound. Brown excels at both.

Brown’s outlet passing ability could really make running a lot easier.

Also, he runs the floor pretty well for his position.

He's the type of guy who can now be a fit now that we're not bound by the 2-3 zone. Ditching Pitt for Cuse worked out well for Mintz.
Didnt he have an NIL dispute with pittsburgh?

It’s a tough spot for Red. I’m sure he loves all these kids, but some of them may not fit how he envisions playing. I don’t think he’d force anyone out though

If I am red, I am giving guys a few more days to decide their plans, but I probably want to grab at least 1 more guy from portal so I would be pressing Joe and Jesse.

When you have a strong relationship with a kid there is a lot more depth and trust when you have a tough conversation on expectations and what the plan is. For a kid willing to bet on their ability to develop you can't ask for more in today's game from a coaching relationship standpoint

Their biggest losses were Paul Atkinson, an Ivy League grad transfer who had started and did great for them along with Blake Wesley, freshman starter, who declared for the draft and went in the first round. Hubb surprisingly was the least of ND’s losses before this past season.
