Could be they never started. They’ve been bad so long now I can’t remember if they were ever good this year. Blame it on injuries and a roster built on a wish and a prayer.

I agree but you in last place. Surely a couple of people deserve a DFA and others have options. The mentality of avoiding to start the clock changed with the latest CBA. Your better off see what talent you have than Scranton winning the International League title.

Donaldson for 1. Maybe close down Nestor for the season and put him on the 60 day. That would open up a second spot. Also not sure you really need Allen either.

I think Donaldson is already on the 60 day IL right? Does that run out before the season ends? If yes, then yeah, I don't see why they wouldn't DFA, pay the rest of the season, pay the $8M buyout, and move on. I can't imagine that exercising the $16M option is anywhere on their minds.

Donaldson is on the 60. He's not eligible to return to the active roster for another month. If he comes back at all.

Pereira is already on the 40 man list. They would have to make room for Wells.

They can move Cortes or Rizzo to the 60 if they have to.

Time to start thinking about with Rule 5 Candidates they want to protect.

Yep. It wasn't long ago when I'd plan everything that day around a Saturday afternoon Yanks-Bosox game. Instead today I took the cars to the car wash. Flicked it on between the two trips, saw 4-0 early, back to the car wash.
