2024-25 College Football Playoff TV Schedule

They must do a straight up seeding - like the NCAA Tournament. It’s absurd that Boise and ASU got byes. Rooting for both - but it’s absurd.

PSU got unfairly rewarded.

The problem is the seeding AND the byes. If you keep the byes the Penn State still gets unfairly rewarded with a bye. Also 2nd round games need to be on campus to reward the higher seeds. We should want a Semi Final of 1 v 4 and 2 v 3. It makes the regular season mean something.

This first round could not have sucked any more. What a total freaking letdown.
Disaster for the sports books. Every teaser and parlay with all 4 favorites hit.

Agreed, the seeding stinks. Ped St gets SMU and Boise, while the #1 seed gets Ohio St?

Indiana and SMU are not two of the 12 best teams. Tennessee sure didn't look like they belonged either. South Carolina was one of the hotter teams at the end of the regular season. Would have been interesting to see how they would of faired in one of these cold weather games
South Carolina would have frozen their palmetto's off.

12 teams rewards all the teams that think they had a legit shot. That doesn't mean they all really had a shot.

8 teams changes it a bit in that Boise/ASU/Clemson still get in

Oregon
Ga
Tex
PSU
ND
ASU
Boise
Clemson

then you tell these teams like 11-1 Indy 10-2 SMU 10-Miami they played for nothing

At least this system teams that had great years will mostly get in even if it was smoke and mirrors

Miami is probably the team that has the biggest complaint given we had several soft teams anyway

Ala with 3 losses can't complain given who they lost to.

It is weird that not every conference champ makes it to the playoffs. I rather have the top teams split into a new sub division. But if you are going to stay, they should include all 10 conference champs.

If you go to 20 teams you can have a First Four like in BBall. So something like...

Marshall (SBC) at 16. Ohio (MAC)
Jax State (CUSA) at 15. UNLV (MWC)
Miami at 11. Bama
Ole Miss at 10. SMU

1. Oregon (B1G) vs 16.
2. UGA (SEC) vs 15.
3. Texas vs 14. Army (AAC)
4. PSU vs 13. Clemson (ACC)
5. ND vs 12. ASU (B12)
6. tOSU vs 11.
7. Tennessee vs 10.
8. Indiana vs 9. Boise State (PAC)

Yeah. So I know you’re being hyperbolic but that would mean 69,000 Tenn fans and 2,000 cuse fans. I know 500 cuse fans by myself going. Lol

It’ll be 70/30. Tenn
Hotel is already booked. See you there!

All the playoff games should be on campus except the final. Just like the pros.

The pros the home field is based off of record. CFB is based off of a human ranking. Semis IMO should be neutral. It also ensures good weather.

I think the system rewards the good teams with byes and the pretty good teams with home games,

Thats about all you can ask.

Except it didn't because they gave Conf Winners the byes as well.

I didn’t mention anything about seeding. IMO everything should be on campus including semis until the final. I don’t care as much about the weather, to me it’s about the fans and cost and some other stuff. Can’t have fans traveling 2 weekends.

They’re going to have to come up with a mostly fool proof ranking and seeding system, they have to anyway.

The seeding is perfect why should teams that don't win their conference get byes? They rewarded the CCG losers with the easy brackets and ND and OSU who didn't play CCG weekend get the tough bye teams.

How could they possibly have done better? They didn't overload the field with SEC teams either. Yeah Texas Bama would be a good game but no one wants to see conference games first round.

Sure we do!

That way, it’s guaranteed there will be less of those teams that make it any further.

Boise and ASU did not deserve byes

They deserve them more than any ACC team. Why should they have to win 4 games to get a shot at the title. 3 game path of you win your conference. If not 4.

Ok let's do it your way and give 3 SEC teams and 1 Big Ten teams the byes think that will be better?

If they are the best teams yes and this is what is going to happen moving forward. Look at the lines that just came out for the quarterfinals. Boise and ASU are double digit underdogs. A team that “earns” a bye should not be a double digit underdog. In hoops how many times have we seen a team lose their conference tourney and get a #1 seed…. All the time. It’s the Same thing.

Get rid of the playoffs then and let the SEC and Big Ten have their own 8 game playoffs each with the winners playing in a college Superbowl. Everyone else can get eefffed or go FCS.

Dude you don’t get it. It’s about byes not bids. ASU and Boise deserve to be in. But to be rewarded with a bye only to be double digit dogs makes no sense at all.

The way you think, all winners of conferences should get top seeds in the ncaa basketball tournament.

Oh it’s coming.
