Has nothing to do with too many teams. The seeding sucked. Boise and ASU shouldn’t get a bye. When your 3 seed is an 11pt underdog to the 6 seed there’s an issue. It’ll get fixed next year.

It has EVERYTHING to do with the number of teams. In a 14 team playoff how many teams actually have a chance to win it all? Its less than the fingers on one hand.

Every pro league uses playoff seeding to incentivize winning a division. The NFL is about to have a 14 or 15 win team be a #5 seed because of that.

I like that college is incentivizing conference championships.

I do think they should reseed after the first round, however.

Why not seed the top four teams and if there are conference champions not seeded in the top four, give them a home game.

It’s very close (ND +1) to all four lower seeded teams being favored over higher seeded teams. I agree that conference champions shouldn’t get an automatic top 4 seed.

I think that’s silly to but Ohio State should’ve never been an 8. They should’ve been moved; Texas was 5, Penn State 6 (lost to OSU), ND 7. Humans made Ohio State an 8 having to play Oregon.
