I think we put too much stock in these individual game results. College football has such variance. We see these games get out of hand so often, and I think it happens because we’re watching 18-22 year olds who are much more prone to falling apart. We rarely see this in the NFL.

Honestly, if they lined these two teams up again next week it could be a close game. I don’t think OSU is *this* much better than Oregon.

The stronger the duopoly grows the less I hate ND.

I am no ND fan, but anyone not in the B1G or SEC winning it all is good for CFB.

I thought Oregon got the ball to start the second. Hope they can score to at least make it somewhat interesting.

That would shock me. Could be like a Tua over Hurts situation where they keep Tua even though Hurts played all year to the title game. Yes, not quite the same since Tua came in and helped Bama win the title, but Arch showed enough upside this year to go with him next year.

Agreed. It’s related to the “this conference is better because of one game result” line of argument.

Like, the SEC is clearly superior because South Carolina beat Clemson by 3 in a game that was evenly matched in every facet. Got it.
