Didn't the players have until 5 days after the bowl game or is that only for the CFP games?

I think we are in trouble next year because of the schedule, don't think it really matters all that much

It matters. SMU had a soft schedule this year. Miami won't have Ward but with have Mario. G-tech will be a tough game that can go either way. Clemson will be out and out tough. But we usually play pretty well down there. Tenn and ND .. we just aren't in their league. But if we did improve our defense ( by the portal, although it seems we won't) we could be a tough out. I think a miss on our part.

We don’t play FSU. Also, Beck is maybe not the elite QB everyone thought, but is still a very good QB.

The portal is closed. No one else from Syracuse is leaving. If someone was going to leave they had to do it by 12/28. Only ones still capable of entering the portal are from playoff teams. Any other subtractions have to occur in the Spring.

You are correct with the portal being closed for Syracuse players to enter. It did NOT close for SU until January 1st though, 5 days after they played their bowl game. Also, the Scholarship limits aren't enforceable until August. They can run all Spring with an overage.

No offense to those guys but they sort of make my point. Nixon is a back up. JRS hasn't done much yet. And Washington is okay. The guys that made a difference we seem to have got before the spring.
