sure, but where would they go, no transfer portal.
Wouldn't they be able to leave after the semester though? Leave in May and enroll ASAP.

I might be misunderstanding your thought process, but players can't just leave and join other teams after a semester is done. Well, they can leave but they can't join another team without going through the transfer portal. Otherwise, what's the point of the transfer portal. Or maybe I am wrong.
I'm probably not explaining it well.
In the past, anyone could transfer but had to wait a year. Now, they join the team almost immediately until these new rules possibly pass.
If they pass, how in the world can a school stop a player that ended the semester in good standing to transfer to another school for the fall? Even the old system allowed that. So if that said player does what I said does he now have to sit a year if the transfer isn't in the transfer portal window?
