I guess there are sporadic deals to be found. But i've priced SD before from NYC airports and every single time its signficiantly more expensive than Tampa (which I assume is similar to Orlando). Hotels are more expensive too.

Florida cities aren't always lock step. Check Allegiant, Avelo and Breeze too. They don't fly every day and sometimes go out of secondary airports but they can be a great option.

Last year was a disaster and going into a high level bowl with MJ or CDRW as our QB 1 means another long day in front of a national audience.

If Kyle opts out of the bowl game, the starting QB should be Michael Johnson Jr.
