McCord has some risk/reward decisions to make. If you are firmly top 60, sit. If not, what upside is there to playing.

Probably. Not to mention the playoff will be 16 teams in 2 years. Especially when Bama, ole Miss and SC get left out today

16 teams use the bowls as tournament sites. 8,4,2,1= 15 bowls in the playoffs over 4 weeks, let every school have the 15 days of practice, and call it a day get rid of the other bowls as unnecessary.

NIL can’t be used for performance, games played or anything resembling that.

There’s no rules to my knowledge against it. I don’t know who’s willing to pay a player that for one game though. I know the school certainly isnt.

Once schools pay them directly I suspect this will be fixed for next year. It’ll be negotiated.

If you have no clue, no problem. But do you have confidence Syracuse will pay these stars meaningfully given the opportunity? To my knowledge, there’s been some very generous long time donors that’ve held things together with a couple of big new faces trickled in.

there will be contracts for pay next year. That’s a fact. Whether they require bowl game participation I don’t know but I suspect most schools will include that. Will a player try to negotiate out of it? Perhaps. That’s different than ponying up more money for another game right now which is not within the rules of NIL. It would be an unofficial agreement. And frankly would be a waste of money when we could spend the money to retain guys for next year.
