They did beat Texas Tech and UW but the 3 losses to end the year are awful

This is a histrionic reaction when arguably the Holliday Bowl is better. No one outside of our fan base cares about whether we’re in the holiday bowl or the gator.

Of course not. Why would anyone outside of our fan base care? But we care. And to me, getting a top quality opponent was the key. That didn't happen.

Agreed 100%. We had a great year. The game is prime time on a Friday night, and alcohol is still legal.

Just to be clear, I don't view this as a screw job. Almost every team that goes this bowl 9-3 or 8-4, and many ranked higher than we are.

You have to go back to 2016 to find a Holiday Bowl without a team ranked higher than we are.

It's a good bowl.

And you are acting like because you get to see the game it is the most important thing. Not for the rest of us. I wanted a quality opponent. San Diego is fine as long as it was a real good foe. Someone that would move the needle. This doesn't do that. Have fun at the game.

San Diego is a fine location, but opponent is the only thing that matters. This is a big 0 on the fun meter. Gator vs an SEC team is what we deserved and would be best for the program. We’re playing a team without a conference that still has a tie in. So mad right now.

I was wrong. You guarantee to purchase a bigger allotment of tickets, in effect agree to eat a million or so, in order to convince the bowl you’ll bring more fans and make for a better environment. Duke was willing to eat a mil or more to make that pitch.

Incorrect, you guarantee to buy a certain number of tickets and are prepared to eat them if they don't move. Duke did that

Which is why I am not giving our AD a hard time for that. If Duke is buying a huge allotment and willing to eat it it kinda is what it is in a way.

I love the location, I just believe the opponent is more important this year. Its disheartening to hear that the university may not have been willing to put more skin in the game themselves to guarantee a more exciting opponent.

All this goes away if its Duke vs Florida.

I also think we need to be more realistic about the pull JW has.

From what I read it sounds like it might be Alabama vs Duke, that is the thought at the moment at least. They are announcing at 4.
