San Diego is a fine location, but opponent is the only thing that matters. This is a big 0 on the fun meter. Gator vs an SEC team is what we deserved and would be best for the program. We’re playing a team without a conference that still has a tie in. So mad right now.

As was posted above, the dumb tie in with PAC 2 for a bowl like this is so stupid and what hurts at the end of the day. No way the PAC 2 should have had a potential tie in with this bowl. It’s an excellent bowl and we deserve that, Washington State does not

The hoops team may get less than 10 wins this year. Add pedals to those bikes, they’re sucking wind after the first half

The key aspects of a bowl’s prestige and impact are a) opponent, and b) date relative to January 1st. Gator is January second, a date that is associated with a successful season. Holiday bowl is December 27, a date associated with bringing those pants you got from Aunt Joanie that don’t fit, back to the store for exchange.

I think this is great for the program to go to san diego in the winter for a bowl game. I don't understand the disappointment, a team like ole miss or alabama in a hypothetical bowl game would have so many opt outs that you can't even say they would be a better team than WSU. The location matters more than who we play in my opinion. This is a great opportunity to build team chemistry for the next season.

Spot on. I know for the east coast fans it’s a let down but people are acting like it’s the pinstripe or military bowl. This allows our team to go to a great weather location and we do have a lot of fans on the west coast. I’ll be there with at least 8 or more.
Players and team get a jump start on winter and spring workouts. Regardless of the opponent Fran will sell it to recruits. Only possible opt outs I see is McCord and OG. I see everyone else playing.
McCord may play to get more exposure for nfl scouts.

Our fans travel for bowls and put up with garbage for two decades. It says more about the university.

I’m just questioning your logic. Our AD should not sacrifice $$$ for the sake of a bowl game.

It just seems to me that it would make more sense to put our 9-3 22nd ranked team in the Gator then to have us fly all the way over to California for a game. Wouldn't that cost more money? Shouldn't that be put onto a lower ranked team in Duke? I don't know how the finances work out with all these games but that's my perception at least.

Yea…… I’ll take wsu over us getting murdered by bama and risking McCord getting seriously injured.stuff our pockets, get the win and let’s go home. I for one am extremely excited to see what the freshman qb has to offer. Let’s face it if you’re not in the playoffs then the only thing that matters is a pay day with these bowls. ( in simple terms).

there were a lot of cuse fans at the cal game, the matchup sucks but hey atleast it’s a warm bowl?? You guys do realize now that we play cal and Stanford , California can be a recruiting ground.

it’s not a recruiting ground and even if it was the bowl game would have no impact.
