Sounds like surgery and he will miss a significant chuck of the season. On positive note, Mets bullpen is looking real solid and making them tough to beat. Nice win today!

If everything's going to go wrong, it might as well be in one game.

Alvarez will be out 6-8 weeks. Nido finally threw a runner out, first of the year for the Mets.

Losing Alvarez is a big deal. We are lucky Nido is still around. Sounds like the plan is to play Narvaez a lot while Alvarez is out.

Maybe he will figure out how to play defense sometime soon.

Sounds like Megill might be back within a month. Maybe Senga in mid June and Alvarez around July 1st? My vote is to pull Houser from the rotation first.

Awful game today. Mendoza left Houser in way too long again. I suspect he saw how Glasgow was throwing and decided to try and get as many innings as he could out of Houser, to not tax the bullpen too much and affect our chances of winning tomorrow in SF.

It probably was a good call. I liked his decision to use Diaz in the eighth inning last night instead of the ninth. The heart of the Dodger lineup was up in the eighth and it makes sense to bring in your best against their best.

Reed Garrett continues to pitch with remarkable effectiveness. Let’s hope he rides this wave all season.

Sounds like JD Martinez will play for the Syracuse Mets Tuesday and Wednesday and if things go well, get called up to the Mets for their game Friday (they have another travel day scheduled for Thursday).

We started scoring runs again. This team has a lot of productive 'glue guys' like Harrison Bader and Tyrod..errr... Tyrone Taylor.

Tough thing for Mannea to pitch 4 2/3, leave with a 6-0 lead and see a reliever get the third out on one pitch. It seems absurd that a starter had to pitch 5 innings to get a decide on but a reliever can get the win with one pitch sometimes if he's the pitcher of record when the go-ahead run scores. I maintain that they should just give the starter the decision in every game because the purpose of the stat is to see what your chances of winning with each starter. Nobody evaluates relievers based on their won-lost record.

Two losses to a mediocre cards team… In a 162 game season there is almost no such thing as a must win this early, but a loss and a sweep today would not be great. It keeps coming down to the all or nothing nature of the bats... never seen such a group of supposedly good players who are so consistently inconsistent.
