This may sound nuts, but Pitt may be a top 3 team.

The 18 team ACC averaged 6.33 portal transfers per team. (114 total) We lost 6 ourselves but surprisingly that’s slightly below average among our ACC conference mates.

The loss of pg Carlton Carrington to the NBA, Pitt’s highest scorer as a freshman last year, could really hurt them this year. He was a major reason they did so well this past season. It will be interesting to see how they do this year.

Good info

Good info
Thanks, interesting info regarding the portal. Sadly though not a total picture though since NBA entries, expired eligibility isn’t included as additional losses.

Losing Hinson and Carrington have to be two killers for Pitt. If it isn't, Capel must be a great coach.
Agree, Hinson had good overall numbers despite game to game, he could shoot Pitt in or out of some games, you had to cover him closely on defense helping spread out the offense so he didn’t go off. Carrington was the real surprise to me on their team, a combo guard out of hs and considered more of a shooting guard who actually was an excellent point guard as a freshman.(he had almost a 3 to 1 assist/to ratio).

Why do you say that? They lost their 2 best players.
Kante is back, Legget is returning who was one of their top guys. Legget and Lowe should be a pretty damn good backcourt. Could be a breakout year for the Graham twins, super weak but the talet is there.

I think Capel is a really good coach too.

This article has Pitt #6th.

After Duke, UNC and maybe Miami, it seems pretty wide open to me.
