2024 Schedule...

not playing psu either. the schedule change from last year other than dates is drexel, albany and romo in exchange for the extra games played vs duke and nd as well as lafayette in 2023. tho if they finish in the top 4, they will have at least one more acc game.

now that we're back to normal acc scheduling, i was really hoping they would've gone back to the traditional march 'cuse game. that had a lot of history as an early season hype game. alas.
The early season game was a carryover from when SU wasn't in the ACC and each team had their conference schedules to play at the end of the year. While MD and Duke used to play very early in the season the other games were always much later. ESPN and the ACC wants a highly ranked UVa and highly ranked SU playing at the end of the year for one of the top seeds in the NCAAs to draw eyeballs to the ACCN and not waste the opportunity on an early season game.

Tough stretch of Hopkins, Penn and Notre Dame, but other than that not much. With the Big East looking especially down, feels like their out of conference schedule should have been much tougher. Perhaps all they care about is getting the AQ.

Small schedule with only 13 games, still Hop, Penn, ND and Loyola is a pretty decent OOC, though like you said with the BE being fairly weak overall another decent team really should be on there. G-town and Rutty should have played each other.

Speaking of Hop is there anyone they don't play? Can't say those guys don't play a tough OOC that's for sure.

Hopkins doesn't play Notre Dame, Duke or any Ivy League teams.

Hopkins does play their 4 toughest ooc games (Georgetown, UNC, UVa, and Syracuse) away from Homewood.

Thought they had added an IVY this year. Still an interesting schedule, maybe not as difficult as I thought at first glance with G-town and UNC working in a lot of new parts and Loyola a major unknown.

could be several things or a combination. i have no doubt accn was involved.

but also think there was a good chance coaches with input decided it's just... easier... than 3 teams looking at an open weekend when everyone's playing ooc than 1. patriot and ivy (and not sure hoo else) give just one opponent as an opportunity each.

as far as eyeballs... the game going back quite a ways has been on teevee and must see early. generally played on a friday or sunday to avoid basketball. i personally would doubt the ratings are higher later season when more big matchups are happening, largely in the same timeslots. they actually did change the scheduling of the game to late season in 2020... and it was never played. so i wasn't getting my hopes up.

When the game moves to UVa in 2025, it could put a really nice crowd in Klockner, provided there aren't April showers.

Was told Feb 21st but game is not on Utahs schedule.

Hmmm. Only 11 games listed in their website. I might be wrong but I think they are only listing home games (previously announced) and conference games. Strange way to do things but wouldn’t be surprised if the SU game is real, just not finalized.

Only thing is Feb 21st is a Wednesday, which seems like a strange time for Utah to make a cross country trip.

Tough OOC schedule for the Pios - Hopkins, Utah, Cornell, Yale, Ohio State and Duke (at Calvert Hall). Nice to see them schedule LeMoyne as well. Strange and frustrating that college lacrosse has gone from scheduling neutral site games at NFL stadiums to high school fields.

Curious what the rest of the Dolphins schedule looks like. I think this is the first time I've seen them listed by anyone. Random thought but would have been cool to see LeMoyne on the SU schedule, though have to imagine they will scrimmage.

Yes I believe they are definitely scrimmaging. An in season matchup was not an option after the RPI debacle of the Bonnies and HC last year, though I do believe Lemoyne reached out.

looks like a good schedule for them. no other game around duke so not for convenience, brown must be looking at maybe tapping the balto area.

Army playing Syracuse February 28th in the Dome (its a Wednesday)

UNC, Rutgers and Mercer and UMass also on Army schedule.

Huh a Wed, that has to be a first for an Army/Syracuse matchup. Looks like both schools really wanted to re-start the matchup. I gotta say one of the reasons they apparently didn't do the game last year was because they couldn't find a weekend day that matched up and now they schedule it for a Wed.

Army is likely to be a top 10 pre-season team as they essentially return everyone with a pulse on that team save for the goalie. With that pre-season hype kind of a weak OOC though I guess they did add UNC at least.

midweek game vs army is good for syracuse. on a week of prep id prob favor the knights. but on a weds traveling to the dome...thats a better setup for the orange. forget quint's "tuesday/weds is for the hunter" BS. midweek games favor the home team even more than weekend matchups

Lol, last time Army and Syracuse played, in '22, it was on a Wednesday. A game we all want to forget as the Orange lost 17-13.

Lol your right, I did forget about that game. Blew a big lead right?

UVA, Notre Dame, Denver, Cornell, Utah, Cleveland State, Air Force, Bellarmine and Detroit Mercy are non conference opponents for the Buckeyes. Tough schedule.
