I wonder if this is a way to get a talented edge rusher on the field ASAP, instead of waiting for him to bulk up and play a more traditional DE role.

And when he is on the filed it is to "see ball, get ball," aggressive play.

Seems like a good move for him if it sticks - prototypical OLB size at 6-4 225. Kudos to Fran for putting guys in position to max their potential.
