2024 Transfer Thread

The secret is getting out on Rollins. Campus in Winter Park, FL is amazing. Suburb of Orlando. Flagler in St Augustine is the same.

Haha I live down the street from the campus. It’s funny seeing all these SU lax transfers end up here. I was actually on a flight last year from Syracuse to Orlando with Mikey Berkman’s dad. Great guy and talked up Cuse lax for a little bit.

Winter park is a great area. Rollins is basically in “downtown” winter park. Walking distance to Park Ave which has all the bars, restaurants and shops. Very nice private school with a lot of deep pockets. Most the kids that go there, their parents have a lot of money. Very preppy school and nice facilities.

That dorm is nice but the rest of the campus is like a postcard. My d had her senior pictures done there, and Mr. Rogers is an alum as well.

Looks like the first has dropped. At least one FOGO that SU missed out on. That said, didn't think they stood much of a chance to land Eldrige. They might have wanted someone with a bit more experience anyways.

This was always a head scratcher to me why he was leaving UVA when the slot is wide open..
Definitely want somebody with more experience

Ya nothing against Eldridge but I doubt SU was active here they need someone with experience. NYC's tidbit about Desouza makes a lot more sense.

Seems to confirm that UVA is heavily pursuing experienced guys too. This is a tough as hell task for us. Only like 3 guys are in the convo that we would be truly satisfied with and they have a gazillion options, including no longer playing. Perhaps noteworthy that neither Fine or Richiusa have announced they are entering the portal.

With Syracuse's transfers, it is looking like Syracuse is on about even footing with the Wahoos at the moment.

Heard tonight that a SSDM D3 All American will take a grad year at SU next year. Don't know if it's common knowledge or not.

Normally wouldn't post a transfer rumor from a non traditional source (Xanders, Foy, et al) but this poster looks to be a teammate of the player in question. Shrmdougluvr is this the guy you hinted at above? Titus would be a big addition, named DIII First Time All American by both US Lacrosse Mag and Inside Lacrosse. If you are going to get a DIII transfer, make sure he's the best in the country at that position.

He would definitely fit the description of what was rumored. Would be a huge add.

If your Fine or Richiusa it would make sense to stay point for a few reasons. If your Richuisa you already transferred once, unless your sitting out a year or going D2 your locked in. For both SU was better at the X down the stretch then it had been and SU actually had some success against LaSalla and did fair better against Naso. Now that is all relative to how bad the position was overall and that by no means SU should not puruse all options to improve the position. However, both did show some flashes and now have experience going against the top FOGO's in teh country. If nothing else you bring back guys with experience and perhaps 1 of the 2 breaks out.

If your Syracuse I think you still need to pursue an elite transfer option but I don't think you need to add a second Richiusa type. If nothing else they will have Four legit FOGO's on the roster next including a highly rated frosh and Spallina who has put up pretty good numbers this year as well. Still think a transfer is needed but assuming Fine and Richiusa stay I'd have to think between 4 guys you can find someone who can be at 50%.

If I'm not mistaken Bang is also an Albany local who is related to the Bangs from Cortland that won a NY State title with Yale's Andy Shay.

He's definitely a Union teammate.

Is he of the Way Downtown Bangs?

Virginia will pick up someone. I mean, they have to since they only have one FOGO on the roster right now, and I don't believe any of their incoming freshmen are face-off specialists. I had assumed Gunty was on his way to Charlottesville and that's why Eldridge decided to enter the portal. If he's truly forgoing his final year of eligibility then things obviously become very interesting. I just can't imagine they don't bring someone in that is going to be pretty good.

I'm not as high as Jeremy on our returning FOGOs. Fine was great against Princeton, but I think the game against the Tigers was a "false dawn". He and Richusa combined to win just 37% in the last three games against Duke, UNC and Virginia. Yes, they played very good competition, but that number is not going to win many games. Frankly with those types of numbers neither guy is going to see much interest from other teams. That might be why they aren't in the portal.

I do feel pretty good about Johnny Mullen and Jake Spallina and definitely agree SU doesn't need to bring someone in who might turn out to be okay. I think Mullen and Spallina fill that "roll of the dice". Compared to UVA, SU's situation looks pretty good, but of course that could change in a blink. Would love a little more info from our friends in lacrosse media, but it is what it is. We only know that DeSouza and Gunty might be off the board because of posters on this board.

Big day for Hopkins. I assume Chauvette is the player that NLF was rumoring to have flipped? Should be interesting bringing in two highly ranked lefty attackmen with him and Sorchetti from Culver. With Irelan, to me at least, the Jays don't have a real obvious weakness. Mazzone is still a big loss but they are pretty solid all over the field.

Good pick ups for Hop especially Ierlan. I will say they still have some questions to answer at X and replacing Degnon. Mazzone really seemed like the table setter defensively, I think they are going to miss him more then people think.

Hop will be very good next year. Think it comes down to just how good their offensive depth is next season. Not a lot of consistently scary guys after the foursome of Collison, Angelus, Melendez, and Degnon last year. If they can get Chauvette and Sorricheti to go off right away it could be trouble for a lot of teams. English showed a good deal of potential for them last season as well. Grimes improved, but still not a total alpha. Also some questions of if they are getting the most out of that group with Crawley in charge. Man up for instance was pretty meh.

Chauvette "shooting like Okeefe" is not a crazy statement. Dude can absolutely rip it underhand from the left wing. Not the biggest guy and dont know much about his dodging, but he might be able to step into Degnons spot next season with his shot alone.

Bummer to see Hop making an offseason splash, but if any Ivy is going to suffer, none better than """"""""blue collar"""""""" Yale.

Rutty adds another transfer bringing their mark to 7.
Sidorski Middie from Lehigh

Looks like Michigan has added Justin Tiernan, attackman from Lehigh. Replacement for Zawada? Both he and Sidowrski are being reported on Lax Bucket.

Ya can't imagine that's a great sign for Zawada returning but I also don't know what Michigans depth status at attack looks like even if he does come back or if they think they can play Tiernan at middie ala SU with Kirst and Simmons.

Very true. Out of their top six on offense, it looks like they lose Bryce Clay from the attack and Peter Thompson from midfield. They also bring in Christian Ronda from Princeton to attack. So looks like they have an open spot for Zawada to come back if one of the two newbies is okay playing midfield.
