I honestly have no idea why he would go there except for ego. Ole Miss is supposedly willing to pay what LSU will pay, and he can clearly win at Ole Miss. they love him there and the pressure is nothing compared to LSU. I know his daughter goes to LSU but most of his family, ex-wife included, are all in Oxford

Agree with all you say. The only factor is the Lane Kiffin has always been about the $$$ and ego. He's had plenty of time to reject the LSU job and seems to like the attention, drama queen.

Sources told ESPN late Saturday that the expectation is LSU, a day after its regular season ended, will hire Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin, 50, on Sunday as its new coach and that the deal will cover seven seasons at an annual average of around $12 million.

If he's going to LSU that's it. If I was Ole Miss I would end his access to facility and team.

He can't be both.

He's going to poach staff, players and recruits anyway. At the very least, he will use the move to trim what he seems to be waste or fat from what he knows will help him most. Is it really a threat?

Besides, the moment he says he is leaving, he must scramble to save what recruits LSU already had lined up that he wants to keep, flip other recruits to LSU, and hire additional staff, is there enough time for both during the playoffs? He may want to win but can he dedicate himself to 60+ hours each week to both of teams? I doubt he can do so effectively.

Louisiana is a top ten state for high school talent, unlike Mississippi, which competes with Mississippi State for recruits, while LSU has no such competition. While Mississippi can match LSU's offer to pay Kiffin, it cannot come close to the NIL commitments LSU is making to players.

Kiffin wants to win a National Championship, and LSU is his best shot.
