Giving players who took a big chance by transferring to Syracuse a first look, since they already know about the guys who have been here a while?

Fulfilling promises that they made to recruits during the transfer recruiting that they will have every chance to be the starter?

Agree... love to talk about projected starters to fill the void of August, but also remembering this is just some drills in day one of camp without pads.

IMO Carlson did a great job selecting the 10 Key players that need to do well for this to be a successful season.

I did not realize that David Reese is pushing 28… he is basically 10 years older than Demetres Samuel. That’s wild.

That’s a big athletic line. Crazy what the transfer portal era can do. 4/5 of those guys not even on the team last year.

Gotta think Ferguson, Miller and Cruz are going to be pushing these guys for PT. I think Bryon Washington might find himself in the rotation as well. Fells nice to actually have some depth and possibly go 9-10 deep on the o-line and actaully feel good about the 9/10 guys

Tough to cobble together that much on OL though. They need to gel fast because OL takes a ton of coordination.

Pretty sure we had some Tackles in the GROB years who were the size of our current Centre.

Agree. There may be some early mixing but I would think staff would want a locked in "first line" with top 2 backup by Aug 11th or so at the latest, so those guys can start gelling and getting used to each other with as many reps as you can in practice and in film review.

They have made a concerted effort to have SEC/Big top tier size on the OL. Undeniably change in measurables. Ability level is the unknown.

Awesome news, let's hope this continues.

If so, it send a strong message that Fran is able to positively influence these kids and get them back on track in life and not just football when programs like Texas and Washington did not in this case.

I bet the players were glad a cool front came in to knock down the 90 degree temps and humidity, even for a couple days. Days like today aren't limiting, that helps at the start of camp.
