2025 Schedule Tidbits...

i get the RPI considerations but its hard to justify losing the hobart game which has so much history while a team like vermont is still on the schedule...like why not keep hobart but get rid of vermont instead? vermont isnt helping your RPI or getting you a top 20 win...hobart literally went from d3 to d1 just so they could keep getting their teeth kicked in by the orange...poor guys

It's more likely Hobart wanted out then Syracuse especially when you consider SU just played at Hobart last season. Raymond's job is likely on the line season and with Cornell and Michigan already on the schedule I assume he felt a home game vs Albany he had a better chance of winning then at Syracuse. I find it highly unlikely Syracuse dropped the game.

from what i am hearing now this is not the case. hobart wanted to keep the game. this is their super bowl..

So they play Denver/SU/PSU OC top 10ish and Richmond/Albany who were top 25ish last year as well
And who knows how the Ivys do next year. Probably better as more and more 2020 kids go off rosters.

It's not a bad schedule by any stretch but taking off ND and not replacing them with another power type team is a bit curious for a team that will have a top 3 ranking. SU and PSU are excellent OOC opponents but Denver is likely to take a step back or probably two and while I like Richmond and ALbany its unclear how good both will be especially Albany who returns a lot but loses Piseno and Hogg, both huge pieces.

Certainly anything is possible but I know Syracuse has always been open to continuing the series with Hobart and considers this an important historic game with Krause-Simmons trophy game etc. Hobart was also scheduled to play at SU this year. I will see if I can find out anything additional but I haven't heard anything about SU looking to drop the game. I will say that much like the COrnell game there has been a push the last few years to have a weekend vs a mid week matchup and the last I believe three games have been played on Sat or Sunday. Perhaps the inability to work out a non-mid week game has caused an issue much like it did with Albany last year.

Vermont has a nice campus set up but man playing a game there is rough early in the season. I was there last year in mid April and it wasn't exactly prime lax playing weather. I can't imagine February.

Such an interesting schedule and not just the teams but geographically as well. Ohio State, Devner, Cuse, UVA and even Dartmouth, pretty good OOC schedule.

Some of the traveling is a bit curious though. LIke last year Utah plays Vermont again with the game at Vermont. Surprised they wouldn't try and combo that with another East coast game. Obviously the Cuse game is home for them so that won't work but with Delaware, Dartmouth and others you'd think they would try and combo some games together.

Rutgers 2025 schedule. Looks like they are taking the easy route this year.

Pretty much the same schedule they have had the last 3+ years. St. Joes is a new addition but beyond the only teams of consequence they play OOC are Army, Loyola and Princeton.

compared to last year, rutgers is adding st joes, st johns, and LIU. dropping hofstra, detroit mercy...not a huge difference...i guess st joes gives them another potential top 20 win that last year didnt have...still a weak schedule for a weak program

Didn't Delaware put out their schedule without Syracuse listed?

wow could we finally see the orange at west point for the first time since george w. bush's first administration...??? or maybe a neutral site

Yes they did, very odd. I also wonder if something happened with Albany, I was told they were back on the schedule. Marr has been asking/pleading for another home game maybe SU relented.

I don't believe so. Problem with Army is they prefer to play the game in February (along with SU) but SU for obvious reasons won't play at Army in February. I believe they have discussed a later season game but it's hard to work out for scheduling purposes with conference games as they most likely would have to play a mid week game later in the year which apparently neither side is really gung ho about. I wonder if they are off the schedule this year.
