2025 Schedule Tidbits...

We are anticipating no Army on the schedule this year? Would be somewhat refreshing I cannot lie. They are so demanding to play against. Almost always a 1 goal game. My Cardiologist is mad they’re off the schedule…

It does appear that they are off the schedule. Army is definitely a pain to play for a number or reasons the most obvious is that they give SU a hard time 95% of the time and play a very physical and relenting brand of lacrosse. They really seem to up there game when they play SU and it shows in the fact they have won three in a row and even when they lose it's usually a very close result. That said, myself and powellfan have noted that unfortunately Army usually doesn't carry that over to the rest of the schedule. They almost always seem to have multiple head scratching losses later in the season and then miss the tourney. It is certainly always an entertaining game to play them but I won't exactly shed a tear to see them off the schedule for a season.

No TV listed. Maybe ESPNU?

or . . . if this is a "Corrigan" game maybe streamed on the streaming service they use. [FloSports?]
There's no telling where a Corrigan game will turn up. If it's considered a Cornell home game relocated to LI, then it would probably be on ESPN+, like other Ivy games.

The game is not among the 6 home games listed on Cornell’s site for season ticket purchases.

I am begging Gary to make this season fun. Hoops program beyond dead
A few of my friends went to Maryland and are at the game right now. Sending me pics as they destroy Cuse. Ughh

Confirmation from Hobart HC Greg Raymond that they turned down playing the game this year due to schedule issues and what game dates SU offered. Cuse is talked about in the first 5 mins. Raymond essentially confirms what I noted previously has become the issue with some of these local teams (Hobart Albany etc) they don't want to play during the week and want a rotating home and away series. Nothing against Raymond but Hobart isn't Cornell and even that game hasn't had a weekend matchup in forever (until this coming season) and the days of a rotating home and away are over. I had assumed Hobart would be back on the sched next year, now I wonder if they won't be back for a while. It's unfortunate this game won't happen this year but Raymond needs a reality check on where these two programs stand in the D1 pecking order. I hate to sound like one of the 3 online Duke fans or someone from the JHU thread at fanlax but Hobart needs SU a hell of a lot more then SU needs them.

Interesting that much like Cornell, UVA downgraded the schedule some by removing Michigan and Harvard. Still have Richmond, Ohio State, Hopkins and Maryland and a game with Albany but still this seems to be a recognition from Lars of some early growing pains with a revamped O without the top 2 guys.

Really don’t understand why these teams wouldn’t want to get out of the weather and play in the Dome. The game at Hobart last year was brutal for the players and fans.

It is mentioned on fanlax that UVa is replacing Harvard and Michigan with Colgate and Utah on their schedule. This is a little bit of a drop off, but it is not like Tiffany is dropping a top 10 team or adding a really weak team. So it could be just the usual shifting of schedules as opposed to any attempt by Tiffany to make his schedule significantly lighter.
Power rankings: 13) Michigan 21) Harvard 24) Colgate 28) Utah
RPI rankings: 16) Harvard 17) Michigan 27) Colgate 28) Utah

Of course, Michigan has lost 2 of their big scorers (Boehm 65 pts, Tiernan 61 pts), their top FO man Wietfeldt (.615) and some good guys off the defense (Beau Pederson, Jack Whitney, Cathal Roberts).

UVA schedule now official. Looks to be the same that was posted here a few days ago.

vs Syracuse on March 29th.

Probably just coincidence, but feels like there is a lot of overlap between UVA's OOC schedule, and Syracuse. Towson, Colgate, Hopkins and Utah. Maybe it's just that Utah stands out for some reason.

Definitely a lot of overlap. Hopkins is usually on both our schedules but this is the first time I can recall both teams playing 4 of the same OOC opponents.

Colgate and Albany usually are not opponents for us. We last played Albany in 2005 and this is the first time we're playing Colgate since 1959.

Didn't you guys play Albany last year?

Colgate is certainly a new face for UVA. Give them credit, that's a he'll of an OOC schedule.
