2025 Schedule Tidbits...

Cornell Schedule official. Saturday April 12th vs SU, on Long Island.

Seems like a pretty manageable schedule for the Big Red. SU is the only ACC opponent and Penn State the only team from the Big 10. With all they bring back, I thought they would challenge themselves a bit more.

Very similar to Dukes schedule last year. Believe there was some thought that Cornell had overscheduled last year and was likely to take a step back. I do agree that it feels like they took a little to much of a step back. Another ACC or B10 team would make a lot of sense on that schedule or even Army.

if the ivy league is better this year than last, then cornell probably wont miss the notre dame game much... but if the ivy is about the same or doesnt take the step forward that people think it will take, then they are going to regret dropping ND and not replacing them with another high end team...ive heard rumors of a cornell-hop series on the horizon but i guess they couldnt get it done for this year...

I believe Vermont is game 2 on the 7th but I haven’t been able to confirm.

Believe that is correct, heard they were back on the schedule again. Their HC Feifs loves playing SU early. Feels its a good early test for his team.

UNC will be lucky to go .500 with that schedule. 7-7 last year and have now tossed out mercer, fairfield, and wagner - replaced with michigan and jacksonville. breschi seems to think he's got a much better team. we'll see...

will either have to win more than 1 ACC game or pretty much run the table with their tossup type games against the ivies, mich, hop, army, etc.

I think they'll be better than Duke, and that would qualify as the one ACC win. Not sure what to make of UNC, their fans (which I didn't know they had) over at FanLax seem to be very confident. I know Gianforcaro is a good goalie, but not sure he's much of an upgrade over what they had last year in Krieg. Duffy and Petro will be good, but will they solve their midfield, which has been a mess the last two years? Defense should be decent I think. They seem the most volatile of the ACC teams, to me at least. The wheels could come off or they could win the conference if everything breaks right.

gianforcaro is an enormous upgrade on krieg who quite frankly was an average goalie the past three years following his promising freshman season...but i am still skeptical of the midfield and duffy's ability to be a more efficient "team offense" player...

Syracuse hasn't played Penn State in lacrosse since 1986? That seems wild to me, if I have that right. Given Tamboroni's connection to upstate, you'd think he would try and maybe work something out. They play Cornell and Colgate so maybe that itch is scratched.

Did we already know the ACC Tournament was in Charlotte? Can they play it anywhere else but North Carolina? I get that two teams in a small conference are already in state, but let's switch things up every once in a while.
Yes, that was announced last year. They're playing both Lax championships several years in Charlotte's soccer stadium.

So they play Denver/SU/PSU OC top 10ish and Richmond/Albany who were top 25ish last year as well
And who knows how the Ivys do next year. Probably better as more and more 2020 kids go off rosters.

They don’t have any ACC schools scheduled. Therein may lie your answer.

UNC has their schedule out above. Johns Hopkins (UVa, Syracuse, UNC) has had their schedule out for a while.

Basically, it is the willingness of schools to post schedules that are not finalized as to dates and times of all the games. Often, the Big Ten has moved games to Sunday nights in the past.

OSU has put their schedule out (UVA, ND)

I think you misunderstood. I meant Penn State doesn’t have any ACC schools on its schedule, so perhaps the answer to why they don’t play Cuse is because they’re not interested in playing any ACC schools.

Sorry.
PSU did play ND regularly in the first decade of the century up to 2014, but that got dropped with the forming of the Big Ten. PSU was more of a middle of the pack team before the Big Ten formed.

Duke hasn't been playing any Big Ten teams.

Ohio State schedule. Three ACC teams with UVA, UNC and Notre Dame, plus Denver and Utah. They have some cupcakes, but overall pretty tough sledding. No Ivy League teams.

kind of underwhelming to be honest...i guess when you're 11-18 the last two years then some softening is to be expected to avoid a third straight sub .500 season...but unlike the UNC schedule, this one does not scream out that myers expects his team to be much better than last year...they replaced cornell with bryant which is a clear downgrade...five cupcakes to start the year to get to 5-0 and trick people into thinking theyre good before the trouble starts...

Quite the schedule for the Princeton Tigers. They open the season with Penn State, Maryland, Duke and UNC. The NC matchups are a Friday/Sunday deal like last year. Followed by Rutgers, Cornell and Harvard.

Dang.

i get the RPI considerations but its hard to justify losing the hobart game which has so much history while a team like vermont is still on the schedule...like why not keep hobart but get rid of vermont instead? vermont isnt helping your RPI or getting you a top 20 win...hobart literally went from d3 to d1 just so they could keep getting their teeth kicked in by the orange...poor guys
