2025 West Lot/Selection date and times UPDATED

I think Thorndon is a city owned park.

It is as far as I know. I know T-mark is high on doing some parking there but I think that's DOA even if SU was interested. It's not conducive for a number of reasons.

Not every lot has to be a tailgate lot either

Could you work with Nottingham or build a lot at thorndon park? Who owns that? or run busses from Destiny.. Just to spread things out
There’s plenty of parking Its that the amount within 4 blocks of the stadium is constantly being reduced .

There is nothing but parking lots between Harrison and Adams between 81 and Salina.

There is a big lot across from the university garage that is an SU lot. Between Harrison and Genesee there is a lot of parking lots.

Within a 25 minute walk there is more than enough parking

I completely, genuinely sympathize with everyone impacted though I do have an idea to consider; any tailgate group involved may want to consider relocating to a more readily available lot. Yes you would have to shuttle (personally I don't mind that) but at least you all would still be together.

No I don't think it's fair. No I don't think you should have to compromise. Just something to consider.

Can’t complain about the current product on the field. It’s the parking and tailgating that will drive me to drop season tickets. Not worth a 5 hour drive if you can’t tailgate in the lot where you park.

There was discussion at one time about establishing a tailgate central on the intramural fields off of Lancaster(?). Would include dedicated, reserved spaces for individual groups. Feedback was that people would still have to bus to the Dome so wouldn’t be ideal. Mitigation plan was to develop dedicated buses and traffic lanes. Then Covid hit and a key person left the department and the concept died.

That’ll never happen with our group. And besides, it needs to be an area that can hold more than 100 for a tailgate.

Both Manley and Skytop could accommodate that. Again, I don't think it's right but at least you all would still be together. What's more important, the spot or each other?

Please don't get upset that I'm saying this as I'm saying it out of love.

I think this Fall...

Not a bad idea...not sure 1200 is feasible
im literally just throwing ideas at the wall. Like I did w the train

Shuttling over sucks.

Some in our group would rather die than give up a spot in the West Lot. No joke.

In the 80s pre gaming was Marshall street parked at the hospital or or around Adams or at the frats

90s armory on track or a nice fall walk

Tailgating didn’t really kick in until the 2000s for me with this group of delinquents

Never did the Manley thing or buses from skytop. I think the only time I was at Manley was for PSU 87

Aren't there still a bunch of pay lots north of the Dome? University/Adams, Grace Church, etc? I've been to tailgates in some of these the past few years, they were pretty lively. They also didn't fill up too early, even for big games.

Not saying it solves everyone's problems, but I thought there was more parking around the Dome than just the permit lots.

Yep

What goes on during game day at the corner lot next to the womens building? The one with tennis and basketball courts as well as a huge field?

That's a 5m walk to Miron Court and if nothing happens over there during game days... open it up for parking
