2026 Recruiting

Wonder if getting Schniedwind in means the other Marcellus middie is not gonna happen.

I'd say probably 3 or 4 more. At least 1 fogo 1 more pole probably a SSDM type and then another.

They are on track to have 40 players for the '26 season, so technically they have room for eight more guys. Don't think they would take that many (want have some roster flexibility), but they have room. Agree with Jeremy about what the "needs" are, though they have some wiggle room.

Think that is unlikely. We have had classes over twice the size of the current amount. Plenty of room for more. Schniedwind also appears to be more of a defensive middie.

No. 13-ranked player Jayden James (St. John’s, D.C. / Next Level, Hilltop) committed to Syracuse. The 6-1, 180-pound left-handed defenseman will fit in nicely with the Orange’s historic identity — he likes to use his athleticism and stick talent to pressure aggressively on the perimeter and is also extremely dangerous in transition.

The Orange also added No. 43-ranked player Harry Schniedwind (McDonogh, Md. / Baltimore Crabs), a 6-1, 185-pound left-handed middie who projects as an offensive player but showed his versatility by contributing as a d-middie for the Eagles’ MIAA champions this spring. The pair of commitments boosted ’Cuse’s class from No. 12 to No. 7 by the end of Tuesday.

Doshna will be a tough get. Multiple big time schools sniffing around including Maryland and I believe Hop amongst others.

last i heard it was maryland, cuse, psu, and osu...i have not heard hop involved here...though i think they are on bramoff...as is everyone
My source says OSU, PSU, Maryland and UVA. I have not heard of SU being involved with Doshna despite Rayfield and Doshna playing together since the age of 5. I also have heard Hopkins is not involved with Doshna.

Getting away with what? Bringing in big time recruits and failing to meet expectations?

yet another high 4 star committed today but i dont know if it was announced

I think two, with McAnaney and Askeroglu, both attackmen. I’m numb to it now. How long does Dino plan on coaching? Do they have a succession plan in place? Do recruits not care? Six more years is a long time!

I know Mitchell Pelke is not everyone’s favorite, but this was interesting. They did it last years with Brendan Millon, though I didn’t watch that one. He follows Bennet Matthew’s recruiting process from September 1st, on. Never really seen all the ins and outs before and it was pretty entertaining to see him take calls and have to weigh his choices.

Syracuse made his top eight, Gait called him that first night and it sounds like they had a second call, but UVA, Duke and Maryland were his top three. Obviously he chose Duke.

Only school that doesn’t come out looking great is Rutgers who offers him a full scholarship and what sounds like an NIL deal (he never mentions what any other schools offer). They are the only school he openly talks about turning down, and says it’s for academic and lacrosse reasons. Ouch.

Ya I figured that was coming unfortunately. UVA really needed an elite level pole and I'm sure made a big NIL offer.
Thought Cuse had a chance given his mom was from and grew up here. His grandparents still live in Syracuse too. Think academics played a big role
