2026 Recruiting

Thought Cuse had a chance given his mom was from and grew up here. His grandparents still live in Syracuse too. Think academics played a big role

Ya definitely could have. I know SU definitely made a strong offer but UVA as I noted a few days ago was really looking for a high end pole and lost out on some other guys so I suspect they went all in.

Looks like 2 5s left.. are we in the mix for either?

No 16. Dylan Malone (La Salle, PA) Midfield
No 20. Tuck Gilbane (Nobles, MA) Attack

Banks feels like an honorary five star -
No 21. Jace Banks (Hill School, PA) Attack

Given where they go to high school, I kind of doubt it. But you never know. There are lots of other good players available though. Some that have caught my eye -

No. 37 Brady Mollot (Archbishop Spalding, MD) Attack - really fast X attackman, one of the most fun highlight videos you will watch. Not very big but can put guys on skates. Apparently was the team's top scorer as a sophomore.

No 46 Matt Colella (Brunswick, CT) Midfield - big prototypical dodger, can really shoot and moves well.

No. 56 Jake Ivancevic (The Benjamin School, FL) Defense - Had a big summer and I'm surprised he isn't ranked higher. Big kid who can move in transition. Plays on Team 91 with Hanson Peck.

No. 61 Kamden Clack (Buford, GA) Attack/Midfield - if Mollot's highlight reel is the most entertaining, this is second. Tall kid who moves really well, it says he's a righty but he scores a ton of goals with his left. Can play behind the goal and at midfield.

No 66. Finn Morgan (Lawrenceville, NJ) Attack/Midfield - Canadian lefty who looks a lot like Syracuse commit and current teammate Ted Rawson. Has extensive box background.

No. 81 Michael Marino (Don Bosco Prep, NJ) Defense - no highlight vids on YouTube, but he's a big kid and goes to a school coached by Syracuse alums.

No. 85 Cooper Kuehl (Bullis School, DC) - big kid at 6'3 and can hammer it from outside. Maybe not the smoothest player but you have to like the potential.

No. 86 Andrew Pascarella (Lambert, GA) Defense - looks like he could also be an LSM, big kid who is good in transition.

No. 88 Kip Zacharia (Manhasset, NY) LSM/Defense - not the biggest kid (compared to other's this cycle) but really good stick skills and footwork. SU hasn't had much luck with Manhasset kids, and he does not play for Team 91.

No 89. Cole Carberry (Springside Chestnut Hill, PA) - one of my favorite players just based on highlights. Not the fastest player, but he is big and stout at 6'2 205. Very smooth and probably the most polished players I watched. Inside Lacrosse spoke a lot about him in their attack video breakdown. Right hander.

No 92 James Whitehorse (Salisbury, CT) - similar to Carberry, is very big and moves well. He's Canadian as well. Issue is he's a lefty attackman, and with Peck already on board, that might spot already might be taken.

Other four stars -
Colby Rossettie (Lawrenceville, NJ) Attack - originally from San Diego, tall and quick right hander who is a prototypical X attackman. I think this will be his first year for Lawrenceville.

Billy Haggerty (Iona Prep, NY) Attack - reminds me of Colella, tall and athletic. Could easily see him play midfield as well.

Sean Ryan (Brunswick, CT) Attack - Does pretty much everything well, good dodger, passer, etc. Reminds me of some recent Syracuse attackmen like O'Farrell and Rodriguez. Just very solid.

Reed Verner (Loyola Blakefield, MD) Defense - big kid who really likes to hit, can also cover the middle of the field.

no chance at gilbane. he's headed ivy or ivy adjacent most likely. dad has connections to brown and harvard

havent heard anything about malone but based on location have to think psu, penn, maryland, maybe hop and gtown are interested

banks probably going acc or big 10 but doubtful cuse will be it. an ivy or two sniffing around as well...

is malone - tj malones brother (whipsnakes) ? If so which believe he is have feeling may follow in big brother n amends footsteps going to psu. Which i’m cool with as my family is huge psu fans.

no

Sean Ryan (Brunswick, CT) Attack

In my area so asked. Doesn’t seem like Syracuse is really in the mix, from my Brunswick Lax Dad neighbor.

That said, Brunswick Dads all want their kids to go to ND, Duke or UVA. Syracuse is scoffed upon from the PE/hedge fund dudes in Fairfield County.

Seems pretty clear that it's the ACC, then everyone else when it comes to recruiting. Of the 82 Top 100 players who have committed so far, across all three recruiting services, the ACC has 44% of the commitments (next highest is the Big 10 with 27%).

Just 29 players in IL's Top 100, plus an additional 34 four stars remain uncommitted as of now. After Dylan Malone at #16, the next highest unranked players are defenseman Bing Burch, at #33, LSM Rees Piontek at #35 and attackman Brady Mollot at #37.

Curious if the players left keep heading towards the top ranked schools, or if universities that don't have many commitments will look more attractive. As nyclax pointed out, Cornell, a school that usually does pretty well recruiting, doesn't have any top 100 players. Denver, a school coming off a final four appearance, doesn't have a single recruit yet. Even the Big 10 seems to lacking a bit, the highest ranked commit they have right now is #22 Jacob Johnston, headed to Hopkins. The conference as a whole doesn't have a single IL five star recruit. When is the last time that happened?

Hoping Syracuse can keep pace in these next few weeks. With the new roster caps being put in place, I think this might be effecting the speed at which players are committing. Still lots of good players left, but things are happening quickly.

rumor is that a lot of schools are capping this class at 9-10 due to the potential for roster caps soon...

schools like nd and uva are prob close to being done if not done already

so i do think schools like cornell and yale that have been quiet so far will tack on some of the remaining 4 stars but it def wont be enough to catch up...no matter what they do now their classes will be pretty underwhelming...

notre dame's class is unfair...they got the top three players on my board (faison, banks, ligas) plus the top lefty attackman and the top fogo...i guess winning back 2 back titles pays off...the question is will corrigan still be there by the time they get to south bend...

The past 2 years the Big Ten has gotten only 7 5-stars. 5 of those 5-stars went to UMd and the other 2 to OSU.

Notre Dame and UVa are really loading up. They will be tough to beat down the road.

Of course, these rankings tend to shift a bit before the freshman rankings - and then there is real thing after that.

With only 8 guys in our 2025 class, we may have more room than some to add 4 star type guys with potential.

yeah, but it's more about the incoming and outgoing. and portal projections. now that cuse should be firmly under at least the proposed numbers, and with a seemingly large outgoing class in 2026, they can reach into double digits comfortably, even with the expectation to pick up several transfers.

for almost all non-p4s, any nc$$ mandated roster limits don't matter, and for the majority of p4s, they're already in pretty good shape with this last covid-graduate school class wrapping.

i expect to hear october noise on 2025 flips from the usual suspects as well. nd and duke especially. uva has one spot, supposedly.

Additionally fellow top 100 recruits Bing Burch (to Hopkins) and Matt Colella (to Penn) also committed recently.

This obviously does not tell nearly the whole story and isn't accounting for transfers, redshirts, and grad years, but here's what the ACC rosters are looking like based off IL rankings when this current recruiting class will be freshmen. Can't fault kids for going to the schools they want to go to, or for taking whatever NIL packages they're offered, but there are going to be some very crowded position group battles. I'm not close to anyone going through the recruitment process and can't speak to their mindset, but there are going to be very tough routes to playing time for a lot of talented players. Can't overstate enough how Cuse has to take advantage of the next two years of their current roster to try and catch up on the recruiting front.
