2026 Transfer Thread

SU had a Fogo recruit a number of years ago who they let out of his NIL in the summer and he ended up at Marquette. There was also a middie I believe but the name escapes me.

Multiple others in different sports

thanks! as the article says they're pretty rare & also up to the school. to me, they'd be bad precedent if i were a coach. gun to my head they're denied more than granted, but no way of knowing that.

as you said re: nil, for nli schools can very easily make it messy.

Do the Ivies make kids sign NLI? If so Hunter Chauvette definitely switched his mind from Yale to Hopkins the summer after his Senior year. Never understood how he was able to do that.
their schools are/were not part of the nli program. no athletic scholly money, so committing is nothing more than verbal.

No, they don't because they don't give athletic scholarships. Need-based aid only and the only athletes that I can remember off the top of my head as not needing aid to go to an Ivy were the two Rockefeller brothers who played football for Princeton.

Call me crazy with that horrendous stat line, but I would absolutely take him at cuse. He has the speed to draw slides and has produced in the years leading up to this one. Also has the speed to play on the wings, where we are losing Rice and English. Even if it was a more limited role like that, he could be useful. He is definitely capable of more than 5 gs in a season. If we can't land Sharp I would not mind going after this guy.

Definitely curious to see if he draws ACC/Big 10 interest again. I would assume so. He has speed to burn for sure. He is a lefty so I wonder how that would work with Leo at midfield already (and Anderson/Deere on attack). Would he be open to the second line? Syracuse is in a weird spot when adding transfers on offense. Feels like they need to add more juice, but the fit has to be right. I

If Kyle Colsey does indeed leave that's two lefties who could play midfield leaving Charlottesville. Their top three midfield recruits for this year are all listed as righties by IL. Sean Browne who is recovering from injury is a lefty, but a natural attackman. Seems like one of UVA's biggest issues has been having too many attackmen and not enough natural midfielders. This doesn't help.

Lot of blame on Casesse per UVA fans but something definitely feels off and you wonder if a mass exodus maybe coming.

I don't blame Casesse. The reason is simple. Lars has only had success (both at Brown and at Virginia) when Sean Kirwan is running the offense. He's the key. Lars is just an average coach without him. This is like Space Jam and Sean Kirwan is all the talent that is sucked out of Charles Barkley.

So, as a baseline, this is what I’d currently project next year’s offensive lineup to look like. Agree/Disagree/Thoughts?

(R to L)
A- Spallina, Anderson, Deere (O’Farrell as 4th)
M1- Thomson, Rhoa, Leo
M2- McCarthy, Birtwistle, Hottle (Bogue Hahn if no Birt)
M3- McIntee, Kellogg, Rawson/Koby White

Really high on O’Farrell, who I think has the best chance to replace Spallina after he graduates. The righty just looked so comfortable & aggressive (not just for a frosh either) in the 3 games he played 4Q minutes. He’s has good size & looked very quick with good change of direction in his limited action. Scored 2 goals, one on a nice dodge from X & the 2nd on a smooth righty roll back shot from distance. He was a 4 star recruit who I honestly think flew a bit under the radar (compared to Anderson & Deere in prior years) because I’ve never seen a senior highlight vid online. It’s odd for a player of his caliber. He did have a HUDL page & if you watch individual highlights of him playing for Westminster in the vaunted NE Founders League, you’d see that there’s a ton to be excited about. He has a lot of righty-Hiltz-type-nuances to his game but looks slightly more athletic & definitely more two-handed. I hope he gets more of a chance to show his skill in some capacity next year.

With the apparent issues at UVA I wonder if Gait or Odierna has picked up the phone and placed a call to Bramoff yet...
I came here to post this lol. After over a year of helping speak (type? lol) “It Was Always Angeli” into fruition on the football board, allow me to officially announce that The “It Was Always Bramoff” Express is boarding & will leave the station at 6pm sharp.

I still have this recurring vision of him & Jayden James dominating the field together for ‘Cuse.

I'd like to see us pick up a SSDM and a Grace replacement.
As I posted upthread, I’d be pumped to add OSU transfer Dante Bowen to go along with incoming frosh Jayden Kittleberger to bolster our SSDM ranks. As for the Grace replacement, Donny Scott, Dillon Stephens, & even 6’4” 231 lb Jordan Beck is a good start, though they’re all obviously unproven. I fully agree that we should be looking to add there if the right player emerges. Maybe someone from the LSM ranks of Kuczynski, Sageder (who I feel like I haven’t seen much the past 3-4 games), Bolognino (who had a great GB & clear as a SSDM that nearly & should’ve ended in with a goal vs Princeton), & Filardi.

Channerchuk has some sort of issue with SU. Don’t expect too many Express players to make their way to Cuse, especially their big stars. The only reason Syracuse was kind of in the mix with bramoff last summer was his family connections to Syracuse.

Filardi is likely to be involved in some way, close D isn't really his thing but I wouldn't be shocked if he saw immediate time at LSM or even close if the staff thinks it's worth it.

Well, this is certainly awkward now, but I’m still calling it The “It Was Always Bramoff” Express & it still leaves the station at 6pm.

Well he went to Navy so maybe he's still sore about 2004?

D'Agostino is an Express guy but he's the only one I can think of at this point.

There’s also the UMBC ssdm who has great numbers (42 grounders and 10 CTs for a shorty is really good). I also wonder if Koby White or Matt McIntee, who are redshirting are being prepped for the position next year. White has really good size at 6’2. Also there’s the question of if Levine has an extra year (and if he’d be healthy) for next year. Feels like they have to bring in someone.

LSM is an interesting position. Filardi hasn’t played for a year and I’m guessing he’ll be with the football team in the fall. How much can you expect? Kuczynski is a fun player but I think you’d want a little more from the position to be honest.

Doctah Lexus is right that the priority on offense should be Brad Sharp. I just don’t know how likely it is. I just worry teams will short Thomson and Deere and be able to pile all the dodgers. One more strong dodger is all I’m asking for. Kyle Colsey and Rory Conner would be great fits but it sounds like they are spoken for.

I'm not sure Filardi will be with the fball team at least full time come the fall. I could see him getting in some PT with the lax team especially when you look at where he is likely to be in the depth chart. Will be interesting to see what happens there.

I caught Filardi in the stands, right on the fence during the broadcast of our win Saturday. I also could’ve sworn that I saw Jake Stevens in the stands decked out in all Princeton gear & amongst PU brethren. I mean, it makes sense, but I meant to go back & find it on the replay to see if it was indeed him & if he was maybe wearing something ‘Cuse to show some love lol.

Do you remember about when in the game you saw Stevens? I have the game recorded on YouTubeTV (and it's on YouTube). Probably after a P goal. I wonder how disappointed he really was afterward.

I noticed Stevens too. Believe it was after one of Palumbo’s million goals. I think it was during Princeton’s early run in the 4th quarter

Yeah, it was definitely after a Palumbo 4Q goal. He was looking down & high fiving people below him. Cleanly bald head with a sharp beard. Maybe sunglasses on head if I recall.

Again, I totally get it. He spent 4 years there & earned his degree. If it’s any consolation, I assume that Braedon Gait, who played 4 years at PU, was there in ‘Cuse gear to support his father. I assume lol.
