2026 Transfer Thread

Maybe a dumb question, but how does lacrosse portal compare to football/basketball.

Assuming it's significantly less and usually a grad transfer or perhaps moving up a level in quality?

My assumption is that being able to stay down South, in the ACC and get a degree of similar prestige probably helped.

I also assume UNC came in with an NIL package and a clear plan be it as the third attackmen or more likely playing out of the box. Again assuming this is true it's not a huge surprise I figured UNC or Duke would be major players here along with ND. I didn't see Cuse being a realistic option, from what I know the bad blood is still there from the Ryan recruitment.
 
Okay, so now both Connor brothers are in the portal. If it's true the older one is going to Georgetown, would stand to reason the younger would follow? Would be a great pickup for the Orange (big right handed attackman, from Long Island), but have to imagine he'd follow his brother to DC.

Not sure this is a fait de accompli. They already have two years of playing together and the younger maybe looking now for the best fit. Don't know if Cuse would be said fit or if there is any mutual interest but certainly one to keep an eye on.

If he came, I would move Finn back to first midfield and have Connor play with Joey and Bear. Finn would get a ssdm instead of a pole and probably not as beat up.

Yes, I mean this would be the dream addition. He produced against good teams this year (eight points in two games vs PSU, seven vs Harvard, five vs SU, 12 in two games vs Army) You'd have two righties and a lefty, all three who could dodge. Conner finished with 51 assists this year (in addition to 39 goals) so he could fill the passing numbers that Hiltz would take with him. In theory defense could really only feel comfortable about shorting Thomson which would create headaches all over the field. Would be a perfect fit.

I'm sure he'll be highly sought after. Duke has one returning attackman returning who saw meaningful time last year (Kershis). Notre Dame graduates their entire attack line (though I thought I read something that said ND can only bring in grad students - not sure if that is true). Honestly, UVA and Maryland are the only schools who probably wouldn't call. Still, if I have NIL money to spend I'm sending a big chunk his way. Plus two years of eligibility. Lets hope he wants to branch out.

I posted in a different thread that I was told that they were both portal bound due to differences of opinion with the offensive philosophy. I haven't gotten an update since, so I am not sure if it was incomplete info or Ryan had a change of heart and decided to stay.

Certainly could have changed his mind, Tiffany has a history of talking guys out of the portal. Or maybe he was on the fence and it wasn't clear which way he was gonna go and he decided to stay. At this point we still don't know anything for sure although there is a lot of smoke on the younger Colsey.

once rumors started blowing up across sites, ryan posted on his instagram (within 24 hours and for the 1st time in mos) re: being grateful to be working with cav futures this year. which is an nil arm.
 
Dan is the second insider I've seen suggest that Rory and Liam are both going to Georgetown. I know he doesn't come out and say Georgetown, but you can piece it together. We shall see I guess. It makes a lot sense considering the Hoyas lose two starting attackmen.

what ever happen to jordan vincent for us? he enter portal but never saw if he stayed or went anywhere? know he play box with fin n joey or up that way. Wonder if he would been a good dmid guy for us or possible another guy to carry the load at that spot.

A good question. They have rolled Vinny and Brett S in the last few games on SSDM with mixed results. They also have Scott who plays box in OJLL and is comfortable with a shortie. Don’t know what the coaches decisions points are.

He was asking about Jordan Vincent former LSM from Vancouver. You are referencing Vincent Bolognino. But agreed, he’s had some good moments at SSDM
