Tyler Burns, ’27, M, Fayetteville Manlius (N.Y.), Orange Crush
Region: Upstate
Evaluation Score: 87

He co-led Upstate in scoring of the Command division championship game with two goals and an assist, and he stood out for his combination of tenacity and savvy with the ball in his stick. An All-Tournament Team honorable mention, he isn’t the most physically imposing at 5-8, 150 pounds, but you can tell he plays with a charisma that resonates with his teammates.

Hayden Myslinski, ’27, G, Clarence (N.Y.), Sweetlax
Region: Upstate
Evaluation Score: 85

He is an entertaining keeper and a fun watch in general. He plays with a wide stance and is quick to explode to the ball. The lefty has great hands and tracking ability that allows him to snap right to the ball. He follows that up with quick outlets and is eager to get involved in the clear or bail out defenders in traffic. If nothing up and out is available he does a strong job walking up and orchestrating the clear to find a clean way out.

My son played with Hayden in 2021…at the time I knew then that he had to be one of the best goalies in the 2027 class. Glad to see him doing well. Good family, good kid.

Hayden reclassed to ‘28 now at Trinity Pawling.

The best 2027 player I had seen is Adrian Sweeney kid from CNS. Big, strong atheltic middie. Scored a bunch of goals as a freshmen last season. Not sure why he didn't try out for New Balance last season?

A lot of kids don’t try out for new balance. My son plays with Adrian on True and none of those kids tried out. It is a very orange crush heavy team at all levels in cny.

Hmmm - now I’m wondering who you are in real life. My son is on the same True team with Adrian.
But to second that comment, the younger divisions of CSE/New Balance are coached by club team coaches and in our case (2027s) one from Crush and one from Sweetlax. Not too surprising that the Upstate team was essentially Crush and Sweetlax kids with a couple 3D Upstate kids mixed in. Kind of hard to justify shelling out a try out fee when the results feel pretty much predetetmined. This summer this group should be selected and coached by the college coaches that did the 2026 team this past summer. We’ll see if that changes the mix of kids that try out and make the team,

IL just announced more ‘27 rankings today, and gave James Holbrough a score of 91 (Sweetlax Upstate/Brighton/Berkshire)

He seems like a slick X attackman destined to go to one of the usual suspects (ND/UVA/Duke), but anyone know if Cuse has a shot at him? I’d prefer George Caldroney in the ‘28 class like I’m sure every other school in the country would, but he also seems to be destined for a Duke or ND type school (sad face).

Here the link to the rankings. I didn't realize Holbrough was from Upstate. What makes you think he'll go to the "usual suspects"? Was it something you heard/read? Tyler Burns, from FM and mentioned in this thread earlier is also listed. IL said a lot of their rankings depend on input from coaches, and they don't have that yet, so I imagine these rankings will change quite a bit.

No inside information, but can’t remember a time anyone from Brighton went to Cuse on the mens side - seems to be a different academic profile from the guys Cuse generally brings in…

Seems to be a trend across Rochester. There are a few exceptions, obviously, but not many Rochester kids end up at Cuse.

And Victor ain’t Rochester. It’s not even Monroe County.

Fran has started making inroads into Rochester on the fball side. I thinks it’s more about how much effort coaches put into it more then anything. (Just a guess)

Aren't Ryan, Kittelberger, and Rodriguez all from the Rochester area? That is not grabbing all of the talent in that area, but that not getting shut out either.

Ryan is from Victor, Kittelberger not sure and Rodriguez Spencerport.

Victor isn’t technically a Rochester suburb. It’s in a different county and 30-plus minutes away. Kittelberger and Rodriguez both go to prep schools out of state.

So, make of that what you will.

Brayden Pike is a Hilton kid. I believe he actually goes to Hilton, so I’d say he for sure counts.

Drew Angelo is a Rochester kid, Chrishawn Hunter is a Rochester kid, Johnny Richusa is a Rochester kid. I'm not sure they are getting the "best" Rochester kids, but they are definitely getting Rochester kids.

Victor is Rochester, can't convince me otherwise. Same with Canandaigua. They all play Section V sports.

I’m not sure I was saying Cuse struggles in Rochester as a whole, I mean guys like Derek Dejoe and Brad Voigt immediately come to mind as impact players. I was more saying Brighton is a school district that strikes me as those who go to more prestigious academic schools (whether they’re looking for a certain education or just trying to tap those networks), and as such I wasn’t sure if that kid would consider Cuse or not.

Pike is a Hilton kid and goes to Hilton. Also plays TE/WR for football. I also believe he is really good friends with Jayden Rodriguez

Trimboli is probably our best Rochester player. Trying to think of a recent Rochester player who I am especially mad we missed out on that does not have the last name Ierlan. But either way some we get and some we don’t. Don’t think we are cursed recruiting from there by any means.

The LSM from Pittsford who went to Virginia would probably be the best Rochester player from the last 8 years or so.

Riorden has to be the biggest miss since Joe Walters, but in both of those cases I don’t have any knowledge of what went into their decisions or if they even considered Syracuse.

The Whipples may have helped encourage him to go to Maryland. Andrew’s dad was a longtime assistant at Irondequoit and was still there when Joe went through.
