I had a decent feel in 25 and 26 on some of our higher end targets but I am flying almost blind for 27. Heard a few names and positions that will be targeted but it's pretty wide open from what I have seen. Massive class for SU, really need to hit a home run.

I look forward to sept 1st

Hearing SU will definitely be targeting Woods and Marachek. Woods will be tough as NYC noted previously he will have a large amount of suitors. Expect most of the usual suspects to be involved especially UNC and UVA. Spallina I think will depend on a few factors. he's a good player but I suspect he's likely a plan B guy. Couple of other NY guys SU will be targeting as well.

Some of these coaches are stuck in their own heads. I've only been "involved" in lacrosse for about five years, and I can see the overall uptick in stick skills, and play at specialized positions (at least the depth).

What also will be interesting is how they adapt to players being the "right" age for their class. A 16 year old junior is going to have some physical deficits compared to an almost 18 year old junior.

Hoping we can take advantage of a year with some lackluster performances from other ACC teams. UVA finished below .500 despite having a lot of top recruits on their roster, and Duke/UNC choked in the first round despite plenty of talent. Meanwhile we were the one ACC team in the final four and have been steadily improving each year under Gait. It was maybe more of an uphill battle recruiting in 24/25 since we missed the playoffs two years in a row.

I think this should be a good opportunity for the Orange to make a splash in recruiting. They are coming off a Final Four appearance, and the preceding class ('26) is quite small with just eight commits so far. Also I don't think there are many red-shirt candidates for this year's sophomore class, so there won't be many super seniors on campus.

It's probably fools gold to try and predict how the roster should look in three years, but there are openings. And whatever, what are message boards for except for rampant speculation? I count 32 players scheduled to be on the team for when the '27 class steps on campus. That seems pretty small even if the 48 player roster cap is in place.

They didn't take a goalie in last years class, and there are supposed to be some good keepers in this year's group. I think Ippoliti has a redshirt year, and he would be challenged in net by Brennan Ferguson and Lucas Bartlow. It would be nice to see the Orange nab a high level keeper in this class.

I count only eight long poles due to be on the roster. This years squad had 13, so again, room to grow. The '26 class is only bringing in two poles (James and Perfetti). I haven't seen a lot of full time LSMs listed by Syracuse or IL, so curious if they go after more players who are designated for the middle of the field. Filardi and Bolognino are the only guys I can think of that can really be considered LSMs.

Midfield seems like a positional grouping in good shape with 10 rostered and two more SSDMs (Kittelberger and Cullum). Of course you can never have enough middies, and more will have to be moved to SSDM (thinking Schnidewind might be a candidate here in the future). They did bring in five middies for the '26 class so perhaps there is less an emphasis there this year.

FO will need to be addressed as there are only three guys expected to be on the roster. Similar to goalie it would be really great to have a high end player here. Angelo struggled in his first year and we don't know much about Olenik or Huang.

Attack should be interesting to watch. Payton Anderson should be leading the group, but curious to see who his running mates would be. O'Farrell, Meyer and Peck would seem to be the leading candidates, but not sure those are names that would scare away a big time recruit. I really hope they make a move for Woods here and hopefully brining in another high level talent. With Peck moving up a class, they aren't bringing in an attack recruit for the '26 class.

Ty has posted his Top 100 on Prep Lacrosse. JT Cross from Valor Christian in Colorado gets top billing. Riley Woods who has been discussed quite a bit here is #3 behind James Holbrough, who is from the Rochester area. Ayden Matthews who I have my eye on from Lawrenceville, is ranked #7 and Chris Colsey is #21.

IL posted their 5 stars as well, I think they rank them tomorrow.

Think SU will be involved with 2 of the guys above, and maybe Matthews but again he is going to be very sought after. I wouldn't hold my breath on Colsey if you catch the drift.
