2027 Recruiting

I think Cross to ND is a pretty sure thing from what I know

I would also love Sobel and I do think that there is some good potential there because he wants to work in sports management (as mentioned in his recruiting bio) and Cuse does have one of if not the best school in the world for that (could also be biased because I am also a Falk student), the only other schools with lacrosse that even come close to it in the rankings are Michigan and OSU

Do we finally get a Colsey?
Based on what others have alluded to, there’s no chance haha. Very strange that it seems to be an untenable situation. Between the Colsey’s and Maltz’s, our staffs have found a way to really piss off legacy families

The Maltz thing I think was overblown, the middle son just wanted to go elsewhere after the one year with Dylan.

The Colsey thing was real but again hard to blame SU, they got the two attackmen they targeted and one was the #1 player in the class. I've heard since Gait took over things are much improved so we'll see but again hard to blame SU for really either.

Maybe it changes if this middle child Colsey makes an impact for Duke, but so far I am not too bummed about the guys we missed out on in those families. Oldest Colsey is solid but not a major game changer. We were right to target Leo.

Our lax recruiting isn’t the greatest anymore. 2022 class was nice. But not even that class could get us to the national championship. Looking bleak in my opinion. Not trying to sound too negative so apologies if I am but I don’t know man. The recent peck news bummed me out. Sounds like our classes keep getting worse since 2022

heard from a few club coaches this morning in the know.

the orange are throwing the sink at sobel...which is probably what chandik is hearing as well...i expect maryland, ohio state, and cornell to be in the mix as well...among others of course

chandik's zemachson prediction is probably on the money given his leading edge connections...it is still weird to me that people pay any attention to his rankings as he is a walking conflict of interest...

Which kids do you think we have the best shot at? In your opinion.

When you have the #1 recruiting class in 2022, there's no where to go but down. And these guys will all be 4th year Seniors in 2026.

Class of 2022: #1
Class of 2023: #8 (Deere, Mullen, Scott)
Class of 2024: #12 (Anderson)
Class of 2025: #6 (Hahn, Kittleberger)
Class of 2026: #5

Yea you’re right… good point, I kinda forgot about our 2025 & 2026 class. Seems like a lot of good athletes

Asaro, Sobel, Holborough, Woods Stankavage, Kreller (WRA), and Sweeney are ones I’m hoping we throw the sink at. I’m sure I’m missing a couple.

Not sure what the FO group looks like but obviously also need to target a high end kid… EDIT - forgot about Watts on Orange Crush, that’d be a great get w/ Cogan as a ‘26 as well

We were also running kids out there during those first few years against all the COVID extra year(s) kids, so the big recruiting class had less of an impact.

In general though, in addition to some of the "institutional" disadvantages Syracuse now faces, the reality is there are more good kids than programs. So in addition to a few programs that are just consistently going to be strong for the foreseeable future, you also have parity to contend with that never previously existed.

Starting a new final four (elite 8) streak with a natty here or there would be wonderful though.

I hope they go hard after Matthews. I know his brother goes to Penn State, but he’ll have the Orangeville connection and Lawrenceville as well to current SU players. I saw a couple of them share his highlight video on social media, so maybe there is some there there.

Michigan - Danny Weller 3* LSM Deerfield
Cornell - Roman Ippoldo 4* G La Salle, first IL Top 100 to Commit (IL #74)
Princeton - John Paik 4* LSM Rumson Fair Haven First IL Top 50 to Commit (IL #32)

Someone on FanLax says Holborough to UNC, but also claims that Owen Duffy is getting jealous of him, so id take it with a grain of salt
and on top of this, im not too sure that being at this game as the rumor states is going to make Holborough want to come to UNC.
