2027 Recruiting

i don't believe you've spent a weekend at unc in session. it's pretty remarkable and really probably only challenged by an ole miss type sec school. and i'm from what's considered a pretty fortunate coed environment.

i can tell you that pic probably didn't come from unc. because i'm not sure they would've gotten through admissions, the talent is crazy deep.
Not at UNC, you’re right, but ASU/USC/Clemson/Florida State etc lol just saying pretty women are everywhere

The big week ahead for Nittany Lions has me worried in regards to Mathews. Of course I thought Bladon might be the mystery Cuse player so I think I’m done trying to figure out which moves mean what.

Just for the record, we do have imo the most important 5* in the class with Sobel… Entenmann was the game changer for ND over a kavanaugh (I’ll die on that hill), and I think we have a high chance at a title if we can place a high scoring team offense on the field on the opposing end. Entenmann > O’Neill in terms of impact on teams as well. So I think over the course of four years Sobel will have more of an impact on our team in terms of success over some of the offensive guys.

Sky isn’t falling not landing 5*s on O, but obviously you’d rather have those guys commit too.
Still think we land at least one, but we do need a high end offensive guy to keep up with the Joneses. Anderson has the potential to be a game changer in these next three years, but the closest we get to a guy of his caliber on paper in the next two classes is probably Peck, and his dodging ability could be less impactful at the next level. Middie recruits are in good shape at least. Think the outlook changes quickly if we get a quality attack recruit, but we really do need it. Need to replenish in a bigger way after the 2022 class moves on.

I am more skeptical of top goalie recruits than guys at other positions, but it certainly does not hurt to land the top guy, and they do seem to be getting slowly better at making predictions at that position. Think it is FAR from a sure thing that he comes in and has an Entenmann type impact, but if he gets even close to that it would be huge for us going forward without question.

a side note on Jake meyer from the 2025 class. How the hell is this kid only ranked #70? I get rankings aren’t everything but the kid is down right electric. Am I missing something here? But yea, I was thinking he’s easily inside the top 50

Thoughts on bogue hahn? Could he be a game changer on the midfield?

So now that I’ve calmed down and am thinking more rationally, I have to agree with Lexus, I think we get at least one more 5 star regardless of position. But I’m really hoping we get 2-3 more on offense that are top 100 kids.

Oh to me he definitely passes the eye test, even more so than McCool did. Waiting to see how he communicates and his ability to organize a defense at the next level to funnel low percentage shots (that’s key obviously). I think he might benefit further from our focus on top D talent.

I do wonder since it seems harder to land top O talent at Cuse compared to others if there is any change of scope in recruiting the top D talent primarily who are stopping these top end O players on the recruiting circuit? It would be fascinating to sit in the room white boarding with the staff on strategy.

Because he’s from Georgia and not in the NE prep circuit (my opinion). He should (again in my opinion) be as impactful to the offense as Bear is. Kids little bro is also electric.

Love to hear it, makes more sense. Hopefully peck, meyer, bear , hahn are our guys for the future. I know bear will be

Unironically, its Belicheck, hes a LAX guy and is bringing a lot of attnetion to the program and likely demanding UNC fund it well, also just the celebrity angle. Also having a football game on Sep 1 cant have hurt even if the team got murdered
Maybe UNC has greatly increased the number of full scholarships they're giving and it's more, maybe way more, than other schools have. I have not seen any reports of other schools increasing LAX scholarships. I've only seen the report that ADJW said we've increased scholarships for the men and women's lacrosse program. Anyone have or seen information on what other schools are doing? Or how many SU has now? Thx.

unc pledged +195 scholarships were happening as house finalized. after football/basketball, baseball/softball, and for sure heavy on womens soccer, that's probably around 130 or so scholarship increases for the rest of their sports.

that's... a lot.

Yes it is! They could only add 20 for football, from 85 to 105. Thx. Reminder, the SEC stayed at 85 for football. As did Cuse. Has anyone followed how UNC women's lax is doing for '27 recruits?

strong, not like the mens team and not really that much better than you would expect from the 20-0 defending national champs, but still very well

This is, in part, possible because of the lower tuition.

A $2M scholarship funding at UNC would fund 48 full-tuition scholarships (48x$41k=~$2M).

At Duke, the same $2M funds only 28.5 full-tuition scholarships (28.5x$70k=~$2M)

I’m not saying UNC is fully funding 48 … only that their dollar goes further because of the relative tuition advantage.
