Wasn't there a bonehead coaching decision in this year's CMU game too? I think it was a punt around midfield on a 4th and short where a 1st down would have sealed the deal in regulation.
He did that and he took a timeout with 25 seconds left in the 4th quarter and the clock running with CMU at our 25 yard line needing a touchdown to tie. The timeout helped CMU get a play in and they scored a TD the very next play. CMU was out of timeouts and it was so crazy to see happen in person. He said after we needed a timeout to get setup however CMU was not lined up and looked completely out of sorts. Luckily we won in overtime.
I remember listening to the post game and a lot of people were WTFing on the radio.

what holgorsen accomplished with geno smith was unbelievable. smith stunk before holgo and he stinks after holgoIf you can't get Harsin, Pelini as HC, Holgerson as OC,
what holgorsen accomplished with geno smith was unbelievable. smith stunk before holgo and he stinks after holgo
smith's total failure in the NFL should make him more appealing
WVU in the Big 12 just doesn't work, can't expect him to be able to keep up in recruiting. and it's the only conference where everyone runs that offense. he needs to go to dumber conferences, like the ACC.
TheCusian said:Ain't nobody bringing in Holgerson as an OC after what he did to the previous coach at WVU. Et tu, Holgerson?
how did geno do against marrone post holgo? Now we're defending Holgorsen? The guy DM made a career out of clowing?
Chip said:What's that story? I remember the WVU AD wanted Holgorsen in and Stewart out. And I remember Stewart running a secret smear campaign against Holgersen, but I don't recall what Holgersen did to Stewart.
LOL, I was just stoking the fire.how did geno do against marrone post holgo?
smith is a basketcase and good for marrone and shafer for knowing you need to hit him hard
the guy won an orange bowl, if you don't think he's an upgrade at OC, you're nuts
how would we be doing against their schedule so far? they'll end up fine

408 yards in 2011Kudos to Holgerson for not figuring that out. Good thing he didn't get multiple shots at us.
Oh. Wait.
He was HC in waiting and got tired of waiting. Undermined Stewart.
One of my good friends is a huge WVU guy. They were glad he was ousted but I wouldn't feel good if that guy was my OC.
This is incorrect. He was HC in waiting and got tired of waiting. Undermined Stewart.

He's much more than a gambler. This is incorrect.
Luck hired Holgorsen as HCIW and OC from Oklahoma State. Stewart didn't like that he was being forced out as his successor while he was HC so he leaked stories about Holgorsen being a gambler at WV casinos. The Administration found out that Stewart was the leak and decided to move on from him immediately and made Holgorsen HC earlier and not let Stewart have his last year.
408 yards in 2011
we managed to get 400 against URI this year, that's it
He's much more than a gambler.
Chip said:I'd be interested in hearing more of that story. Maybe he was just fighting back when he found out Stewart was trying to dig up dirt on him. I'd be fine with him being our OC. But it's never going to happen. He's been a fairly successful HC, so he's only taking HC roles, or OC roles at a heavyweight. We don't qualify, so you won't have to worry.
