4 Guards who ya got?

I would go with Dion and MCW (assuming Dion has his head on straight and is in shape).

I think people that want Ennis in, which was my initial instinct as well. are focusing too much on the offensive end. Our defence with a more experienced MCW and Waiters at the top of the key, would be sensational. More easy baskets would be created.

I also think by his senior year Waiters would be very proficient with the college three - there would not be a huge difference from Cooney shooting level.

I'd choose our current lineup right now, however I do miss those alioops

The two we've got.

Mike and Dion would be fun, if only for the likelihood that they'd come to blows at some point.
This is exactly right. Two very good players that would bring too much drama to the team. As another poster said, it's a five person team and not two.
And remember, we're talking about Dion and MCW as they were while here, not the NBA. How many threads criticizing either of them did we used to have.
Why would anyone want to mess with what we have right now.

Begs the question of taking them as they were at the Cuse or as they are now if they had stayed. If the former, then I go with Ennis and Dion. Ennis is mistake free and Dion has a dynamic aspect to him that Cooney lacks, though his trey shooting is much more erratic than is Trevor's. If Dion & MCW had stayed & all four guards were on the team, is there any real doubt that the starters would be MCW and Dion (Jimmy's 6th man games aside). Look at what MCW is accomplishing at the next level, he has obviously improved 100% from what he was last season. Imagine how dominating that would translate to at the college level.

I'd go with Ennis and Waiters. Waiters may give up some shooting to Cooney, but I'm going to assume senior Waiters is a better shooter than sophomore Waiters, and although that still probably wouldn't be as good as Cooney, it would be good enough for guys to have to come out on him and give him driving lanes. It would also allow Fair to remain in his more comfortable sidekick role. A role that allows him to be a dangerous spot up shooter. I'd take Ennis because he is just so steady. I'm willing to sacrifice some spectacular plays if it means fewer mistakes, and Ennis just runs the show as well as I've seen in a very long time. I also think no one would press us with both Ennis and Waiters on the floor. We'd turn a press into points because Ennis doesn't turn it over, and Waiters would get countless lay-ups, dunks, or fouls.

There is no chance that I'd choose MCW over Ennis. MCW's physical capabilities made him an incredible defender, and his athleticism has translated well to the pro game. But Ennis is a much better lead guard--even than MCW.

I might go with Ennis and Dion, but I love Cooney's fit on our current team.
absolutely

Actually the OP suggests we're talking about them as if they stayed, so we are assuming two years of development for a senior DW and one year for MCW.

Ennis and Cooney...I'd take MCW third. Dion was to inconsistent for me.

I think I might go with MCW and Rautins.

I think that the staff likes that idea as well and they are closing in on the clones of Battle and Malachi. Once those two are secured JB can leave and Hop will have no choice but to continue the zone.

This team could have Dion Waiters, MCW, Ennis and Trevor Cooney on this team. But, if you could only have two, which two would you take? Mine are the two we got. Ennis and Trevor.
MCW and Dion without hesitating for a single instant.

Depends on who the 3 is. If the 3 is Wes Johnson or Demetris Nichols, then I take Dion and MCW. If it is this year's 3s, I take Ennis and Cooney.

The question is in regards to this year's team since both guys could still be here if they chose.

Wouldn't end the drama though. Besides, that is something that would only happen in someone's imagination. It's beyond reality. Waiters wouldn't have stayed for two years if it hadn't been for his mother.

Uhhhh

Dion and MCW every time.

I love this thread, because I had to think about my answer for a long while. I'll go with sophomore MCW and sophomore Dion just because of their talent, but I find Ennis and Cooney easier to root for.

Well that's the whole point of the thread.

Reese and Bjorn. Or the other way around. Wiki "dynamic duo" and you'll see a pic of these two kicking rocks like nobody's business.

Oh, and also the possibility they'll come to blows over who made the game winner at the Y back in the day.

(Disclaimer: Reese was a real D1 player and doesn't deserve to be tied to Bjorn... but the ledger would be incomplete without the most spectacular of Bjorn's claims.)
