Crowd was 40+ 1st through 3rd, 33 or so absolute die hards in the 4th

How can those big boys (Ohio State, Alabama and the like) have 85,000 or even 100,000 regularly?

I went to Wisconsin. You had 35,000 students and 25,000 went to every game. Then people came from all around the state. Wisconsin football is a huge deal and people plan their weekends. They stay in motels and with friends and they go to the Badger game, get rip roaring drunk and they DO NOT LEAVE after two hours because they have to get home. We have 13,000 students at SU and how many attend the football game? 1000? 2000? I sit above them and can’t see. Basketball attendance is similarly pathetic from the student fan base.

Crazy, but happens every game. Students didn't show up until end of 1st quarter, and then were gone after halftime. People left after 3rd quarter. Actually had a couple in front of us stay the entire game, but then leave before NCST's last drive. Like What?

Looked good on TV NC St isn't a big name opponent.

LVille is bad but I think we get the same amount for that game assuming we beat Wake.

It is a shame that the ACC TV contract isn't conducive to Saturday night games. Who knows when the next one will be and we aren't scheduling opponents that move tickets based on their name OOC. Cancelling that Wisconsin series sucks.

Do we have any control over the Maryland start time next year since its OOC?

It’s big ten tv rights controlled game so nope. My bet is Clemson will be in a part of the schedule where it can be a night game next year and not Friday. Both be and us seem to be good enough maybe we get Black Friday game

As the nutjob at the front of 301 who is constantly screaming at the top of my lungs trying to get the lower sections going, I had an easier time today than for any other game this year. People were extremely engaged and all too eager to be loud.

How was the crowd tonight? Engaged? Loud? Tough to gauge on TV.

Sorry there was way more then 30k in the 2nd quarter in the dome, by far the biggest crowd

Think you're off here - much fuller than it has been all year. Our section is normally a ghost town and was jammed.

Definitely more than any other game this year - had to be close to 40k if not over. Regardless, it was loud and engaged all game where I was.

You're underselling the student section,* especially in basketball.

Many of the guys who come from all around the state are alumni, or have alumni in the family. That's the other huge advantage that those big state schools have. And lastly, Madison to Chicagoland is about 2 hours, and MKE is closer. It's been a while since I've driven SYR to NYC, but I think it's tangibly longer.

*Keep in mind that this was parent's weekend, too.
