6 rushing yards, 5 interceptions

Not a winning formula.

I hate the week after bye weeks.
Are we allowed to play local high school teams during bye weeks?

Hey you can watch the "highlights" Syracuse has already posted on YouTube...lol

Our running game is such a disaster. The OL stinks, and we run straight into a wall of defenders nearly every rush. Been this way all season.

Narduzzi took this one personally. Exposed what he saw and fired his team up just a bit more than normal.

Ok I didn’t think it would go this bad but it isn’t that surprising the O had a game like this. You throw the ball that many times, QB has an off night to say the freaking least, and no running game all year, a great game plan by experienced coaches from Pitt etc

This isn’t as surprising as many think. Not this bad in that it was never a game, but still, objectively looking at it Cuse had a wallop coming to them.

McCord’s air attack has done a great job hiding how bad our run blocking is. Until tonight.

I think part of it is scheme. Our running attack is very much like Dino's system was. It is too basic and doesn't have a lot of success nationally anymore. Especially with no threat of a QB run.

That said we don't block well.

Yeah, I don’t even engage with most of these people.
page what do you mean GIF

College football is so dumb treating sacks like rushing yards

I mean it was still two yards a carry, which is awful

We absolutely stink if not for McCord, hope his confidence isn't shot, in a weird way this game shows how much he has meant

Yup. It stinks.

This is a major point in the season now. Under Dino we fell apart with big losses that stunted our momentum. Can Fran dig deep and get this group back up and able to play winning football? This kind of loss almost completely wipes out the positives to date. To get embarrassed by a rival in a big game and then have the star transfer absolutely flop is a nightmare.

FWIW, our totals among non-QB rushers was 20 carries for 38 yards. That's unfathomably bad.

And what's more worrisome is how we're getting worse and worse at running as the season goes along...

Ohio: 25 carries, 127 yards = good
Ga Tech: 26 carries, 129 yards = good
Stanford: 12 carries, 34 yards = ugly
UNLV: 28 carries, 128 yards = good
NC State: 31 carries, 96 yards = bad
Pitt: 20 carries, 38 yards = ugly

This staff needs to spend all weekend locked in a room at the football facility fixing the run game. It's a freakin' mess.

The thing i see isi have yet too watch 1 linemen we have block someone backwards at all. I gotta say this guy is not a great running game oline coach. we can trap andpull ok and thats kinda where we did ok but we cant zone block to save our lives. I see we try to do the reach block and out of the four guys i saw not one got their man reached or even got handson them. Its attrocious honestly. Run blocking is about being aggressive and downright mean and we dont have 1 guy like that. Well now we know what every team is gonna do and with V techits gonna be exact same as last night.

The only thing they can do this year is throw a lot and throw it quickly

That should've just been a normal beat down, it takes some bad luck to have that many tips and taints (shorthand for tipped passes and touchdowns after interceptions, also shorthand for chips two favorite things)

I suspect in addition to the o-line issues there's something fairly predictable about our running game, and it has to do with Gadsden/offensive sets that swap him in and out.

I wonder if offenses that are too multiple are easier to predict.

I bet there are clear patterns in all the personnel groupings and formations

I prefer simpler offenses with no tells

I dont think it was any tells at all.

Pitt just played downhill and forced the oline to block, Then the DBs sat on the short passes. When we held up we didn't get many open looks anyway and we dropped the one pretty simple TD pass though he was held and those few inches probably made the difference.

It really was like living a nightmare last night once the game started. Had a hard time falling asleep after getting home just before 2 am. I’d close my eyes and all I could picture is interceptions being ran back for touchdowns.
