Tell me again how he is so much more accurate and a better QB option than Hunt!

He's not.

Average passer and runner.

May be his last game at QB.

the board has already moved on to the next unsung hero, his name is Alin Edouard

Switch him to tight end. We are going to need lots of them for the worst show on turf

How can you move on to a player that is not here and no one has ever seen play a down? If he ever shows up to begin with.

Meh. Hunt had similar games.

Long was great against florida state who didn't gameplan for him other than that has been very up and down

None of the current QB's are the answer. Enough of the whose better nonsense. They're all very flawed. Could any of these guys QB an average MAC team? Major talent upgrade is needed if we want to be a decent ACC team.

Both NC State and Boston college went out and got highly regarded QB's to transfer from Florida. Looks like florida's leftover QB's are better than any QB that we can recruit. With QB being such a crucial position, why have we not had any success recruiting a transfer QB, from a big time school…..that can actually play(not a Dud like Allen from Oklahoma)?

We changed OCs mid year, had injuries decimate our team, especially our OL, and had a brutal schedule and we are writing off our QBs?

I think Long is fine. I do. I think if we are going to run Lester's O, using the TE more will help AJ. They'll have to roll the pocket a bit, but I like throwing in the option as a wrinkle as well.

Barring the university making a major investment change with regards to the program, we have to hope that this frosh class continues to get better and the coaches learn and improve.

We don't have the program investment to not allow coaches to grow.

Just my opinion.

Well...we did recruit a big time prospect from Oklahoma...and he turned into a human interception sprinkler.

It feels like we are snake bitten to the worst degree...

Sad is that there is no end in sight either, makes it more depressing.

18 year old freshman that probably wouldn't have played at any other FBS school this year. He was put in a tough situation. I thought he had accuracy on his throws but being a dual threat quarterback coming into college, I expected more in the area of footwork and ability to run with the football. Hunt was vastly superior in his ability to be a threat with his feet. He gave them a certain toughness and a way to move the football that they lacked this season. Glad they have two QB's coming in but would be shocked if either starts. I think it will come down to Long vs. Hunt for the starter position.

It's not Long's fault. The o-line sucks and the offensive coordinators both sucked. No QB would have played well this year on this team.

There is something there with Long though. Even if he doesn't win the starters job I think we could use him in a "Doug Womack" type role every now and then and throw him out there on offense in some packages to run a play or two to spice things up. The kid has moxie and if used right is a hell of a player I think.

None of this was about the future, about A.J. or any other option better than Hunt this season. Players can improve over time. I have always said AJ was not ready and should have been a red shirt, still believe that save for all our injuries.

Ok. So here is my argument for him versus Hunt. Hunt has bad throwing mechanics and throws a poor ball. He also only has one year left.

He has good vision and is a big guy that can take a hit.

AJ has three more years left. Throws a better ball. Can run the option. Can throw to a back shoulder.

He's smaller, so you may have to move the pocket more and he's not going to rip off a 70 yard throw, but he can make most of the throws needed.

Neither are Donovan McNabb. I'd rather invest in AJ for the long haul.

The coaches agreed with you, until Hunt went down. He was 3rd string, prime red shirt candidate.

Hunt goes down, changes everything.

coaching staff should go with whoever gives the team the best chance to get back to bowling because another year like this and they are probably all out looking for work

I have not yet seen evidence that AJ can "make all the throws". He has a very average arm and he seems to have lost his accuracy as well. Next year is next year.
