People are forgetting that Hunt did have some good throws this year, and in general, we moved the ball down the field pretty consistently in spite of the many penalties we were accruing earlier in the year. The one pass Hunt greatly struggled with was the screen pass all the way to the sideline, which Lester hasn't been calling much since he became OC. The mini screen passes were much more successful with all our QB's.

I had some good golf shots this year too, doesn't make me a good golfer. People aren't forgetting that Hunt had some good throws, they are remembering all the numerous atrocious ones. Not being to execute in the passing game made us one dimensional and ultimately got Hunt injured. Don't confuse being the best qb on our roster with competence.

Paging Braxton Miller...Newhouse has accepted your grad school application. Classes start in Mid-January.

LOL - post of the year on the football board.

You're comparing the potential abilities of what will be a fifth year guy coming off an injury versus what will be a true sophomore who got thrown into a hot mess of a situation. Unless you think Hunt is miles ahead of AJ, you have to go with the guy that still has potential. You know what you have with Hunt.
I have no idea what you seem to be seeing in Long. He was not a good passer. He looked and played like a boy among men. He turned the ball over by fumble or interception more than Hunt did in all the games he played last year and this. You keep saying Long has more upside, well I do not see it unless you just mean he has more time remaining, and that is meaningless because he has not shown any greater ability.

Well until we bring in the second coming of Unitas, Hunt is the best we got and was competent enough to get us to a bowl and win it last year. Let me see now, what did we do after Hunt was out? Oh yea the offensive production went to nothing, we became a turnover machine, and last but not least lost every subsequent game but one(that game won by the defense scoring twice).

Need to play the best dual-threat QB on the roster. BC's offense didn't have an advantage in terms of talent, but because the defense had to pay attention to Murphy running, it opened up other plays.

It makes you wonder if Broyld might be the best option at this point since SU can easily replace him at WR.
BC starts 5 grad students on the OL...that is a huge advantage over our mash unit.

In fact, look for their offense to take a step or two backwards next year because their entire OL will be new.

They also will not have a 5th year graduate student from FL Gators as a QB.

Of all the drums you beat - this is by far the weakest. It all rests on upstate ny high school football highlights.

We said at the end of last year that BC wouldn't be good enough on offense after losing their RB, QB, and the WR that caught about 70% of their passes. Yet here they were this year.

They'll be fine. I'm jealous of their coach. They may not win them all yet but no one gets an easy game against them.

They won't take a step back. Addazio will have them back in a bowl next year.

Unitas? Who said anything about Unitas? I'd settle for the second coming of Troy Nunes. You have a revisionist memory. The offensive production under Hunt got his O.C. fired mid season. Please tell me again how awesome it was to watch our putrid offense before Hunt went down with an injury.

There's a reason we're bringing in a QB in this class.

With three freshman QBs and Edouard supposedly on the way, you'd think we'd be all set.

Hmm. Could it be, could it be, that the coaches aren't high on the current group?

It's a fact that they haven't been sold on our backups for some time now, well before Hunt was injured.

You don't have to like Hunt, but he's still the guy until someone else steps forward.

Nothing I've seen so far tells me that Long, Wilson or Kimble is that guy.

I'm willing to see what happens in the offseason, but I fully expect Hunt to be QB next year.

Broyld makes Kimble look like Johnny Unitas. Couldn't grasp the offense and vey inaccurate passer.
