A lot of work to do

If you don’t believe this is “a very good team”, then why watch the games. Just saying…
I think we’ve all watched an awful lot of Syracuse teams over the years that we knew were bad teams, but we still watched.

This team is pretty good, but the injuries to the defense are piling up and the schedule gets a lot harder pretty soon.

If this team keeps losing key players to injuries every week, few will use "good" in their evaluations...

Meh, neither did UVA. Missed FG and they couldnt throw at all. We were better than them tonight. I'll take the win
I have to push back on the missed field goals. Yes they were missed, but that is due to our defense keeping their fg kicker beyond his comfortable range. That's a defensive stop to me rather than a lucky missed fg.

Yep. Stuff to work on, people hurt. Looks like we need a scrimmage and a bye week - oh, look!

We were never as good as we were dreaming and not as bad as moments in the last two weeks looked. Head down, work hard - 2 more wins and a lot of chances vs rivals and good teams to show improvement. Enjoy the ride

I'm wondering if refusing to run Tucker outside, and pretty much just between the tackles, is due to Anae realizing his lateral movement, due to a possible injury, may be making it difficult for him to get the edge, put his foot in the ground, and get upfield.

Yeah I wouldn’t be shocked if this kid is a top 3 round talent in the draft. He has so much potential and it’s starting to be realized. And he has the frame that every NFL coach dreams of for a DE
He has a really nice number too for a cuse DE. Needs an all world spin move and then would be set.

Yeah I'd rather win games like this then insert game here where we played our balls off and lost in some awful fashion.

BTW, Varsity was closed post-game! Banners don't flip themselves!
No inside info but knowing restaurants, I doubt the sale made the workers happy

We’re 4-0, soon to be 5-0 and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.

But we better figure out how to run the ball and how to stop the penalties. That was a lousy effort by a veteran OL tonight.

After Wagner, we play the best 4 defenses we will see this year in consecutive weeks. We can’t take too much air out of this balloon.

But hey, how many times have we seen 5-0. So let’s enjoy the next 3 weeks.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

This post is spot on.

Much work to do.

The lack of talent at Wr is brighter then the sun at this point. Cooper and Jackson were bad to awful and Alford was again a nonfactor. The fact Hatcher Long and the MSU transfer can't crack this rotation is beyond concerning. TE is a wasteland in the passing game. Where the hell is Mahar?
Thank goodness Tucker has good hands and can be a weapon out of the backfield. I think we will see this develop as the season goes along.

We did not deserve this one at all. Up 16-0 at half, firmly in control, this should’ve been a beatdown. Our sloppiness and mistakes single handedly let them back in the game. We can be a good team, but we have a lot to clean up.

In my opinion we deserved to win just like last week. Are you saying that Virginia deserved to win more? We turned the ball over 4 times and gifted them with prime opportunities, had a bunch of penalties, settled for field goals, yet still lead for most of the game and finished with better offensive numbers than Virginia in pretty much every category. It's not like they played perfectly and we stole one. There were lots of calls that went against us, and in the end we did what we had to do to win again.

No, i’m saying we simply did not deserve to win this football game. Again, we were up 16-0 at half and in complete control, the only way they get back in the game is if we let them, and oh look, that’s exactly what happened. Just because Virginia didn’t play flawlessly doesn’t mean we deserved to win, we did everything in our power to be 3-1 last night and just managed to pull it out against a UVA team that we were undoubtedly better than.

I don’t disagree that the injuries could definitely take their toll due to the strength of our upcoming schedule, however that doesn’t mean we don’t have a good team. Even with Thompson and Elmore out after UConn, everyone was on top of the world going into the Purdue game with the team being 2-0. All I’m saying is have a little faith. Players like Greer are only going to excel with additional playing time. There are many things to criticize about this team, but try looking at the positives. We are 4-0 and have a bye coming up. It isn’t going to be easy but keep grinding.

A lot of people win predictions on the season went sky high after one game. I dont know why. Too small of a sample size to tell. Last two games tells us what type of team they are. They will win some tight games and they will lose some tight ones. Games dont always go the way we envision. Nothing is guarantee.
We are pretty much the same team as last year Liberty through VA Tech.

This...

But i am worried about the meat of our schedule after Wagner.

It's getting to the point in the season where you are what you are... And we make a lot of mistakes and our superstar RB is a shell of his former self with terrible blocking support.

We could be 5 -0 and then lose every game after that the way were are currently playing right now (save for mebbs BC). That's my worry.

It’s really funny though, a team that was supposed to be MAYBE winning 5/6 games, and MAYBE scratching out a 3-2 start is now getting criticized because they didn’t play well enough in a win.

Might I remind you all this is a team who won 5 games last year and 1 game the year before that?

Enjoy the wins, this is not a playoff caliber team, and probably isn’t even a division championship team - the ride is fun and stressful but don’t get your panties in a bunch because they’re not blowing the doors off people.
Should last year matter? We are a different team this year that's much better, we know the standard that has been set for this team this year and this game ain't it. It's ok for the fans to point this out.

Agreed, he had a few huge catches last night

Think we are an 8 win team. Impressed by gutting out a win with those turnovers. Teams usually lose when that happens. Our secondary played incredibly well. Garrett’s pick was the play of the game to me.

Sometimes good teams find a way to win games they shouldn’t. We did that last night. I’m not going gloomy. We’re 4-0 and that ain’t an accident. Enjoy the good times.

Had another great night in the Dome and despite the stress, it was a fun atmosphere. Wish more would support the team in person. It’s such a unique and special venue. When you go to other venues you appreciate how close to the field you are at the Dome.

I have the same concern, but I've also watched all of the other teams remaining on our schedule and none of them are dominant.

I think we'll find a way to win at least one and feel it's more likely that we pull out 2-3 wins out of our last 7 following Wagner.
