Achilles injuries..

That was a crazy short article for a scientific publication, and it hit the points I thought would have been raised - increasing size of players, and turf/surface. The one I did not know about was limitations on coaching staff contact with players in the offseason, so they can't monitor physical preparedness. Sort of the opposite of college ball.

But I cannot believe that got through peer review (is it a reviewed publication?) and they spelled Aaron Rodgers' name wrong right at the beginning of the abstract. Threw me right out of the gate.
If you see a sentence like this in a scientific publication, you might want to check other sources:

"The unknown and upregulated use of these drugs is unknown but have likely increased.

Devoting ~90 min towards working out is a dream for me. I can find about 30 min/day during the week and I do one long one on the weekend.
No idea where you are in your life but my kids are grown so no sports or other activities, which occupied a ton of time when they were younger.

With no commute, if I get up at 5 and start working, by 5 PM, I've put in a 12 hour day and still have plenty of time to work out.

if you have kids or other responsibilities, I get the lack of time.

At this point in my life, I don't.

Does yoga help. All my years lifting and doing flooring I am much tighter as I get older and need to loosen up a bit
As I posted above, game changer for me.

I get it. I started lifting at 15 and have never stopped. Went heavy (for me) up until 45 when my ortho told me exactly what has been written above - that my tendons were not designed to support the amount of weight I was lifting and that there was a really good chance, especially as I got older that I would seriously hurt myself. So, I stopped going heavy at 45 but was tight as a drum.

I couldn't touch my feet and I can now stand on my hands with my legs straight. When I stretch my hamstrings I can put my foot up over my head (which is needed for head kicks).

But, most importantly, the significantly increased flexibility has allowed me to go hard while not getting hurt (Knock on wood). I am training with people who are as much as 40+ years younger than me. I have to work really, really hard just to try and keep up with them.

In the beginning, yoga will be supremely frustrating. I was not able to do half the poses and, the ones I could do, I looked really stupid doing them compared to people doing them correctly.

I would look at people who could and think, "How the **** do they do that?" I would be sore as hell, especially in the beginning. Holding poses is really hard.

And progress is not immediate. It takes years. I've been practicing for probably 16-17 years (I cannot remember exactly when I started) to get to where I am.

But, if you start it, keep at it, and do it a couple of times a week, over time, you will feel yourself start to loosen up. Just don't expect immediate results.

If you are in Syracuse area, I can tell you where I practice when I am up there. I think it is a really good studio.

Happy to take this offline. DM me is desired.

Bless you. By the time I've put in 12 hours I'm too tired to do a meaningful workout that requires effort. :D But then again I still have 2 kids at home.

I saw something today that was interesting about all of the 49ers injuries of late. Apparently their practice field is directly adjacent a large power station and people are wondering if the two aren’t related somehow.

Ok tinfoil hat back off.

I raced my son once a year until he beat me this year and everytime I thought this could be that moment when both go pop

We never had a competitive race, I crushed him through 13 and was destroyed when he turned 14. That wasn't the only age related increment that affected the race
