Yeah. hasn't really hit me yet, but when it does... prolly need a tissue or twoI feel very sad right now. I’m not someone who cries when I’m sad but I actually feel like I could cry.
ditto , the memories are rushing back in a rush!I feel very sad right now. I’m not someone who cries when I’m sad but I actually feel like I could cry.
This was a firing.
So Red 's first game as a coach is going to be in the tournament? Tough start
If he drops the zone and actually runs a competent O then fine, id feel better about it. Just have my concerns.Lame take. Unless you’re from the future, then spill those lotto ticket numbers bruh
Would Hop really come back to be an assistant? I don't know if he has other options. Just seems weird.
We’re over .500 we’ll be offered every other tournament. NIT probably not but it could happen the record isn’t awful. You think we're in the NIT's?
Red needs to hit the ground running.
1.) Make sure that if Judah returns to college, it is at Syracuse
2.) Play man to man
3.) Dinner with Weitsman
4.) Convince Jesse to return
5.) Hit the portal
6.) Get Taylor, Bell, Benny and Quadir to return
7.) Hire a bench coach. Washington lost today . . .
Ready for Cuse nation to get behind our new coach.
With Calhoun's recruits but go offNational title for Red? Cool
Great post, very logical, etc. Here is the problem... if you are going to do a national search you need time. To get time you have to get an agreement with the current coach that this year is indeed his last year. Apparently going into the season this was not JB's last year. Once the tides turned against JB... again you can't run a national search a) in season and b) without telling JB.
So option 1 would be to start the national search now and effectively punting on next season or option 2 roll with what you know and go w. Red and pray that he can turn it around next season.
Not that anyone cares, but I am firmly in the camp that a national search would not have any higher probability of getting a great coach than the probability of Red being a great coach... see Shaka Smart as a very recent example of this. Hiring is 80% luck and 20% science. And again the AD knows Autry in and out and I'm sure has "interviewed" him multiple times.

100% agreed, feeling the same way. Punch to the gut.
I was telling my wife when she got home and I got choked up.
Maybe a guy who can install a more modern offense and can recruit.Re: hiring a bench coach -- howzabout mixing it up a bit, and not having "played at SU before" be an evaluative criteria?
Time to shake things up a bit, and not fall into the same patterns as before.
I hate the hire I’ll be honest, the team hasn’t been successful recently with him on the bench and now You make him the head coach? Bush league
