AJ Long Interview

So...back to AJ. He's a smart kid, but he's got a big attitude problem. He's the "golden child" and he knows it.

And for folks in the thread asking about his recruiting options, big name schools never wanted him as a QB. Oregon wanted him to either be a WR or a DB.

He came here because we believed in him and we were his best option for PT at QB.
This program could use a little attitude.

Attitude only gets you so far. He's got to be careful because he's made a few bad decisions off the field since he's been here, and attitude won't fix that.

Another guy who was recruited by other big schools to play other positions that came here instead with the opportunity to play QB - Donovan McNabb

So take the negative approach somewhere else. Jesus. Kid has an attitude because he is confident? Beyond ridiculous, what would you rather have.

It's not your opinion that is offensive. I largely agreed with you. I simply stated that the two scenarios were very different - and have no joy kicking a guy when he's down.

It's the added layer of snark that's getting you in trouble. Which is really fantastically ironic given who we are talking about.

Who's in trouble? Also, the situations that I refer to in my posts are absolutely no different.

Guess we should ignore the fact that his brashness this spring alienated him from the majority of the team, and many of them are still PO'D. But yeah, that's cool.

The program could REALLY use kids who Oregon wanted.

I don't care if they preferred he play WR, DB or 3rd leg of the track team.

We need athletes.

We'll figure out the position they play as we go.

Well I guess you have the inside track to knowledge of the inner working of the team. (ok pal) Guys on the team are still PO'd, 10 months later, because he said he wanted to come in and compete for the starting job? LOL - If we have a team full of that big of pansies, may as well shut it down.

LOL - By the way you really don't need to respond unless if makes you feel better as I am going to refrain from responding to you. :) #ignorebutton

Yep. We should ignore it. Especially if his play on the field backs up his actions. Non-story.

Care to elaborate, or disclose how you know this? Or am I just asking questions that I don't want the answer to.

Ishmael seems to like him, which is a good building block.

Sent you a PM.

I would have to disagree with you that he has a big attitude "problem." He is confident and has an attitude, but I don't consider it to be a problem. Yes, when he first got here during the spring he said some things that rubbed people the wrong way, but from what I have seen and heard it appears that is behind him. You can have attitude without it being a problem. I don't remember the exact quotes as to what he was saying, but I believe it might have been something along the lines that he will be playing as QB at Syracuse, don't remember if he said this year or what, but guess what he is playing as the starting QB at Syracuse and hopefully we will find out tomorrow if he can continue to play well like last week.

Put me in the boat that does not have a problem with him being cocky and confident. As the QB and leader of the offense you need these characteristics to excel.

Can't respond to unspecified allegations of bad decisions. Some are a matter of opinion and others not. Have no way to know that to which your refer.
