Why not? Because he got turned to ground beef in the Miami Meat Grinder?

He knows the ACC
He knows the Northeast
He is established in Florida

Maybe Miami just wasn't a fit. Maybe a change of scenery would do him good

I'd take him in a heart beat.

He got a raw deal at Miami with the Shapiro/penalties coming right after he signed.

As long as he had the money to bring in the right OC, I'm fine with it.

I don't know who people think we will actually get. Golden would be a home run within the pool that we can actually get with all the openings that are available.

He's been a HC for 10 years. He's a career .500 guy. He's been to 3 bowl games, won none. He spent 5 years at Miami and basically did nothing.

Him and Randy Shannon have basically identical resumes there, would you hire Randy Shannon?

He would go well with one of the unseasoned offensive guys as a DC.

I'll give him points for the color of his tie.

this is how i feel about golden

don't we want to fix the offense?

You can't disregard the landmines he had to navigate through in Miami with the sanctions. On top of that, he turned Temple around.

I'm all for bringing in a different OC.

But if there is anything that FSU taught us is that we are physically outmatched. He immediately addresses your recruiting needs in Florida and the Northeast.

C'mon man. You have got to be kidding. We don't need a .500 average lifetime guy.

one rule of thumb I have is to not hire coaches who lost their last game 58-0

it's not perfect but i'm comfortable living by that rule
I lol'd. My Assistant thinks I'm not working now, thanks.

What kind of offense did he run at UM? Cant say i have watched a lot of miami games recently (past 5 years)

I would prefer somebody that is coming off success at their last job. I'll just leave it at that.

Right. Those guys tend to make great coordinators, but you have to give them time to get over what just happened to them.

Auburn threw Muschamp into the fire quickly. He probably should have taken a year off.

That sweathog in the humidity of the Dome? We'd need a separate budget just for new white dress shirts. He'd have to go through a wardrobe change every quarter.

you'd love that, wouldn't you

Because he did virtually nothing with talent we could only dream of. So he comes here where it's much harder to land talent. I'd be looking for someone with a track record of doing more with less, not the other way around.

scout Recruiting Class Rank
2011 41
2012 9th
2013 21st
2014 11th
2015 39th
2016 15th so far.

We as Syracuse fans get giddy if we have a class that cracks the top 40. We look at those classes as the talent to turn this around. He's had classes ranked 9th 11th, 21st. His worst class would be one of our best ones. And he has done nothing with it.
