Alan Griffin Press Conference | Dec 15

Alan Griffin: "I think the ceiling's really high for this team. We continue to grow each game and each practice."

Griffin on having Buddy Boeheim back: "It's great to have another shooter back who can put up points. He just means a lot. We have a lot of guys capable of scoring the ball. Everybody can play here."

Griffin on his understanding of the 2-3 zone defense: "I'm learning the defense every day in practice. I mean, I learned some things yesterday that I didn't even know."

Griffin on being compared to elijahhughes4_ early on: "I feel like I still have a lot more to prove. The expectations of me are being met, but we've got a lot more to do as a team."

Griffin on why he left Illinois and what he wanted to achieve coming to #Syracuse: "I wanted to prove I'm more than just a spot-up shooter and that there's a lot more to my game."

Griffin in the trust this team has in one another: "It starts in the locker room. We have a close bond that we're building everyday. We share the ball in practice, too. It's not just in the game. We're just connecting."

Griffin on #Syracuse's 3-point shooting early in the year: "It'll just continue to get better. We put up a lot of shots in practice."

Griffin on his relationship with his dad and the rest of his family (brother at Duke, sister at UConn): "My dad tries to keep up, he's got his own schedule to worry about. But we talk a lot on the phone and give me some feedback about what he saw."

Griffin on Woody Newton's and Kadary Richmond's skillset early on: "Everyone's finding their roles on what to do and how they can impact the game. We've all got different roles. Everyone's trying to get more of a feel."

Griffin on what it means to wear a #Syracuse uniform: "I wasn't heavily recruited in high school. They reached out toward the end of my senior year but it was too late. But it means a lot to put on a 'Cuse jersey, from when 'Melo was here. I looked up to them because of 'Melo."

Griffin on being more patient on the offensive end: "That was pretty well said. I don't want to rush anything."

Griffin on the amount of charge calls this year in college hoops: "There have been a lot of those charge calls, but it's something you've got to look past."
