Albany Gameday...

Ryan Powell has never coached any level until he took the CBA job this year. As good of a player as he was I just don’t think that qualifies you as an assistant coach for Syracuse.

I also highly doubt Galloway, as much as he loves Syracuse, would take a demotion at this stage in his career. And the coaching in waiting this hardly ever works out. Gait is only in his 50s, he could be waiting 10+ years for him to step down.

I would not have guessed this be the case but given Jacksonville’s success right now it’s hard not to think that Syracuse hired the wrong alum.
Ryan Powell has spent the last oh 15-20 years developing players all over the country ever heard of Rhino lacrosse oh yeah and pretty sure he was an assistant at SU in 2004. I bet last spring Galloway would of entertained that offer like I said the ship has sailed

To me the worst part is that Galloway probably didn't have a chance to interview or even get a call. Wildhack should have at least spoken to some other candidates. I don't think he even did any effort other than walking down the hall and asking Gary...are you interested in coaching the men's team?

Wildhack might better look into this new Dome turf and why SU seems to have had a massive increase in ACL injuries since it has been installed

How do you account for the women who are injured in road games?

Cockerille was injured AT Northwestern.
Hawryschuk was injured last year AT Loyola.

Cockerille was injured on field turf in North Westerns indoor facility same surface as Ensley and the Dome. Emily tore her ACL after the Loyola game at practice at home.On Thursday evening, Syracuse Orangewomen’s lacrosse fans’ worst fears were confirmed with the news that star graduate student Emily Hawryschuk will miss the remainder of the 2021 season due to a torn ACL in her right knee that she suffered in practice last Friday. That is from Nunes
some players are switching from screw in cleats to molded turf shoes. Both UNC and SU’s draw specialists had sneakers on yesterday

there was some interview with lars tiffany and he talked about sleeping in his car to get a chance to see a potential recruit and some far off hs…does anyone think any of the coaching staff is or will do that…its that level of intensity we need to get the best player to go to cuse

Uhhh yes? I don’t think we would have managed to turn recruiting around and bring in the top recruiting class in the nation next year without a little elbow grease. Was it a cake walk to secure spallina, flip Hiltz, make inroads in MD and LI, get the scanlan transfer? Obviously that last example aged horribly, but scanlan said that Desko driving out to western New York to watch his indoor league games was a part of what convinced him to come aboard. You just assume this new group drops that leave of effort entirely because this season isn’t going great? The Petro hire is the one I’m most concerned about, but he came in and quickly flipped Rutgers top recruit, whose stock has only risen since then. His efforts on the recruiting trail cannot be denied.

You are aware that the best player in 2023 is already coming to 'Cuse.

Petro is intense, personable and genuine , be at forefront of that effort whether recognized or not, He goes beyond just being a icon. A tireless worker who has gives his all in a transition year, respected by current and past players , be attractive to those recruits that appreciate a demanding but invested and supportive coach throughout the ups and down ... Gait inherits Desko best recruiting class in sometime nm
