Albany Post Game

You cannot play 2-3 with Lampkin. It is sooooo bad. He can’t move or elevate even close to the level necessary to play the middle. He is a nice offensive player but any team with Bell, Carlos and Lampkin is going to be terrible on defense, zone even more so.

I told you guys I would post a pic about my daughter and I in berets and here it is. Surprisingly, people were amused and I became less humiliated as the game wore on. I also cheered in French. “Allez allez, mes petits choux! Sacre bleu! Oui oui oui! Non non non!”The guys behind us love us.

The Hoyas beat UAlbany 10 days ago by 32 points.

Yes, we have to play more like this to be competitive with decent teams. Georgetown, I think, is 8-1 or 7-2. They're going to be tough.

He had 6 rebounds, got to 18 points without making a three, and everyone got toasted on defense.

I thought that for not making an outside shot, until maybe the second half if he made any, he did things that people want him to do. I thought he had some defensive lapses, but he drove to the rim, he looked for midrange shots. He seemed to play hard. That's al good.

We have to beat them and Maryland to feel like we have a shot at a decent year. One, I suppose is a minimum to keep "tinker bell hope" alive. But really, if we want to have a shot at +.500 in ACC and maybe an NIT invitation, we have to win both of these games with the losses we have already.

It seemed like the Albany & Syracuse players just got together for a pick up game.

How soon until Lampkin starts taking games off every 10 days or so to rest his back?

This is inexplicable and maddening.

Agree it definitely can be but it's tough when you get your subs out there and your team or the guys they are subbing for go on a heater. I always wonder if it's just bad timing or the guys on the court say crap, I'm coming out I better do something about it.

I used to get incensed at JB for pulling a guy for ’errors’ within the zone, but… werent we playing zone at the end today? And Bell was in the (top) corner and just inexplicably ran past the offensive player, and the guy just went around him…. And I wished Red had handled it the same way JB would have. Just a ridiculous thing to see.

Much earlier, in m2m, Moore was ‘guarding’ someone and instead of hedging to the guy’s right hand, he let the guy just dribble right, right around him to the Hoop. Not sure what we are doing out there sometimes on D.

Still too many instances where Lampkin hedges and continues an unnecessary switch, way out past where he should be, on a player who isn’t even moving to the rim. Leaving a gaping channel through the lane, putting our other defenders at a disadvantage.

Why can’t this simple stuff be fixed?
So, you used to get incensed at JB for pulling guys and now you are incensed at Red for not pulling guys?

That, my friend, sums up message board logic in a nutshell.

Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

To be clear, I do get the nuance of what you are trying to say...

Agreed 144%.

WHY doesn’t Red sub in the Highlander when we’re going zone on D??!!

It’s literally the one thing he’s actually good at.

We would have legit rim protection, rather than a gimpy turnstile.

And it would be less wear and tear on Dry Rub, who clearly is waaay less than 100% healthy.
