And unfortunately, I think there are more 5th year grad transfers in the future for us...

Hopefully Gillon JRs, if so. We will bring in big classes soon enough. People will leave, but this has been a stretch of every prospect leaving besides Lydon. Also the sanctions, which lost us BJ and others. At least I hope that's the only reason BJ left. Really wish we got to see what he would have done here, but go LaSalle. We lost a lot to transfer, for multiple reasons. It will stabilize.

Hope so, but next year we are going to be frighteningly young, like maybe the youngest team in the country... Actually, I'm hoping we do sign a couple of 5th year seniors for next year regardless of which high schoolers we sign. Just wish they will be more like Gillon than AW3 in their recruitment...

Given the "pattern" that's developing, maybe part of the problem is on our end? Are we not doing a good enough job selling these kids that they need to do so much "due diligence"? How many elite-level programs with only 9 scholarship players have such a time of it getting kids to come on board? Hopefully this isn't a harbinger of how the 2017 class pans out.

It sounds like they just see the situation differently. The player sees an opportunity to play in a Final Four, knowing that being a key part of a Final Four team will only enhance his draft status. It sounds like the dad wants him to be promised to be more of a focal point.

wasn't he already a focal point on a team that didnt matter?

Maybe. We got Gillon to commit without leaving and Moyer loves SU. But Battle, Thompson, and now White. Hopefully this doesn't happen in 2017 - we need all hands on deck.

I feel better after seeing O13's post and I think dasher is right - this is EXACTLY like TT. The dad wants AW3 to go on 1 more visit, that's it.

I, for one am really scared of the 2017 recruiting class, we will need so much. On the one hand, I see Calipari do it every year, but on the other hand I have to ask, do we really want to be like Calipari?

The neurosis in this thread is actually embarrassing. Can't we act like we have been here before? You guys are acting like teenage girls.

I agree with you, but I don't agree with you. As long as we are keeping it in perspective of life and having fun, I don't see it as an issue. FWIW, my wife completely agrees with you. :)

No clue, and no longer care. If he wanted to be here, he should be already. Due diligence has a due date in my mind. Just thinking he's more about himself than the team. Which was always obvious as this is his last audition for the league.

Every player wants to make it, but the good ones also realize it's a team. I don't know the guy, but bad vibes especially ignoring coaches. I believe you also, so possibly telling players things then dragging it out speaks to me negatively as well.

Roll the ball out and let's go. Moyer gets more minutes, and loves SU. Don't want to end up being the school he uses for a one year NBA audition if he's not here to win. He seems to not be that person. Maybe just his Dad. No clue. Just gonna wait until a decision is made and keep my thoughts to myself now. After this uplifting post.
I keep saying it's his dad, this is TT Part 2, just dad driving bus whereas TT was mom.

I have read in several places, that his father is one of those helicopter type dads.

Reading it in several posts on forums makes it fact?

Check out this video, which includes quite a bit of interview footage of his family, and form your own opinion about the dad:

For the record, I'm as frustrated as you are about this situation. Wanted it resolved long ago, and I recognize what an impact White's presence [or lack thereof] would have on our next team's fortunes.

I don't have the time to watch that video at work, but I imagine it shows the father as involved but wanting the best situation for his son. It is never safe to presume ill intentions on the part of the parent, because, believe it or not, they just might care about their son or daughter more than we do. This isn't aimed at you RF. Sometimes the parent seems off base, but they know more about the situation than we do, and we shouldn't judge an involved parent, just because they may think another school would be a better fit for their child.

If everything plays out with the Miami visit the way o13 says it will , the most confusing part of this visit will be what party will be doing the dog and pony show ? Or will they both? Color me confused .

I'm a regular lurker and hope o13 is right, but how much stock can we put in the player source? What I mean is what does White really owe Moyer at this point? Plus Moyer seems to be the eternal optimist, which is a great quality to have accept when it comes to recruiting, ha.

I really appreciate all of 013's info, just trying to look at things in an objective manner when you consider how things have progressed...

I have zero inside information, but my gut says the fact that he hasn't already announced or gone public with an announcement says there is at least SOMETHING he or his father is not 100 percent happy with at Syracuse. If this was not the case, I firmly believe no other visit would be necessary, especially since it is not free. Not saying he isn't coming, but he's looking at least one or more specifics at Miami he or dad isn't totally satisfied with at SU. Just my gut feeling/opinion. Hopefully he is just "double checking", and O13's info will become reality soon.

This young man has one year left to sell himself to the NBA. There are different schools of thought as to what is the best platform to accomplish this. Our coaches are trying to sell him on the fact that we have superior exposure and he would have plenty of minutes on a Final Four contender, and likely that we will have scouts at every game because of guys like Tyler Lydon and Tyus Battle. So, he will be seen often. Not sure what VCU's sales pitch is, big fish small pond mentality? I don't buy it. Miami has been successful lately, and are in the same league, but I don't think they provide the same stage that SU does. I, of course, am always wearing my orange colored glasses, so a anyone that can be more objective, can you debate a sales pitch for VCU, Richmond or Miami that is better than SU's? The only argument I can think of is playing time. And I think he will get plenty here.

did I miss where somebody broke down Miami's returnees and possible top 7??

lil help here, Larranaga can recruit...

Who do you think the better recruiter is...Larranaga or JB? Having said that, there has to be something to this visit. Otherwise, he wouldn't be visiting there.
